All Kellen Moore has to work with is a bruised and broken Zeke, a fraud QB in both Dak and Rush, and meddling WRs.

I say we run an experiment. Get the Chiefs OC here, trade Kellen to KC for a game. Let’s see who’s capable of scoring more points. Kellen needs legit talent to work with.

Dak can't throw under center to save his life. What is Moore supposed to do, every time his QB stares down WRs, while holding on to the ball too long? Moore has to basically throw from shotgun with this guy.
Why?

Why do you continue to spout this mumbo jumbo about under center Dak?

His rating under center this year is 115.

Last year he was highest rated by far from under center.

He is also really good from the gun.

In contrast...Rush wasn't good at either.

Broaddus, Shan, and Bobby Belt start off discussing WR trade targets, but Broaddus detours into a rant about the offense. Says there's still a lack of creativity compared to other offenses. OC not utlizing enough concepts to get WRs open in space. Route combinations don't maximize WR strengths like KC/Buffalo. Doesn't seem too enamored with trading for a WR if they're just going to inject him in a system that is not WR friendly.

Does he have a point? Or is this just a result of poor QB play?

Everything he mentioned has absolutely nothing to do w qb play

Usually im all on the KM needs to go train, he made some great adjustments to the running game last week...FIrst time ive seen this. We will not be changing OC' mid season so lets hope he realises he is not playing with a full all pro deck and needs to help these WR's also.

One minute they want the Cowboys to run, the next minute they want them for to pass. Let’s give Dak for game to see how the passing game goes before we overreact.

I really hope that Moore just leaves Dallas. He is awful. Before he had pre-snap motion and was hard to defend against. But now he has reverted back to the Garrett/Linehan offense. Run, run pass to TEs. It's boring and predictable.

Surely, he can come up with something to help this offense out.

I frankly don't are to lean on Zeke as our main focal point on offense. He is a momentum breaker. I'm all in for trading for a wide receiver. Which we should have done before the season started.

It has long been a criticism of the Linehan, Garret, Moore offense that the scheme does very little to help receivers out and relies on winning 1 on 1 matchups. It has become blatantly obvious now since our WR talent has declined pretty significantly. Everything always seems to be a tight window throw. When I watch other games or even our opposition on Sundays, other teams get wide open looks far more often than us. I would need some data to confirm the eye test, but I'm glad other people see it too.

To put it bluntly, if Jerry Jones has any braincells left he is replacing Kellen Moore this offseason. Even if Dak is the problem, maybe another OC can maximize his strengths better.

Kellen doesnt adjust. Get ready for a stead dose of what we have already seen. He has the same arrogance as his predecessors and this scheme itself is archaic. I would kill for a mind like Lincoln Riley to come and change this entire scheme. Heck I would settle for Jim Bob Cooter.

One key thing that I’ve noticed for years that drives me crazy is that the Cowboys rarely change up the timing aspect if their offense. I didn’t see it under Garrett, or Linehan, and I rarely see it under Moore. Seldom do the Cowboys run a ‘quick-hit’ type of play where the quarterback gets the ball out very fast.

They always seem to have that same pace which allows defenses to better know what to expect and what not to.

I think Kellen deserves a lot more leeway and as a group there should be a lot less complaint about a 5-2 team.
Will be plenty of time to gripe when they lose next.

No the offense hasn't been pretty but then again you can't logically complain about winning by a TD+ in the NFL.

Kellen is asking the defense to pick its poison and they often do. Its a basic read and react concept. Which means a slow slog if the team wants to sit back and take away deep shots.
The WR corps is pretty average and could use the boost of someone like OBJ but it is winning with what it has now.

The Dolphins paid Ced Wilson to then give him 7 targets with 4 catches all year... Just trash stuff but them.

The issue right now if we have a WR1 in CeeDee and a WR3 in Noach Brown but no WR2 with Gallup looking a step slow and the rookie R3 is MIA.
If you can get a WR2 cheap it might make a lot of sense.
Heck, call MIA for Ced Wilson.

Even the Lions stuffed many a play just reading their keys from the formation and motion.

This is a damning piece of evidence. Far too often teams seem to know exactly what we are about to do & shut it down.

In another thread I commented that I would like to see MM do the game plan & call the plays for a game. Keep it quiet during the week and see the confusion it would cause defenses. It should make for an easy win and help you figure out the things that are tipping off the defense.

Some Bucs defender spoke about how easy it was to see what Dallas was doing and where the play was going.

yeah, several teams have outright said it or inferred it. you would think their "quality control" would pick up on "little" things like that.

I was watching the Chief's game against the 9ers. I call it a game, but it was truly just an arse whuppin'.

One play caught my attention.

Mahomes was under center. At the snap, he turned left with the RB looked to accept the hand off on a routine dive play. But Mahomes kept the ball and continued to turn until he was facing toward the right tackle. Kelce was positioned on the end. When the ball was snapped he took off at an angle toward the first down marker. I assume the WR broke toward the goalline, taking the corner with him.

Mahomes threw the ball to Kelce who ran for a first down. I think that play might have been on first down, because Kelse got quite a few yards.

My first thought was why doesn't Dallas run plays like this instead of the bubble screen that goes no where? I decided the reason is:

Every expert has been saying this from year 1. It’s why Cooper disappeared and why players are covered and passes must be into tight windows. Not enough motion. Not enough shifts. Not enough bunch. Not enough crossing. Watch either video by different I’ll reviewers currently posted here. What you see is ups running straight down the field and 1 guy to throw to. The guys running downfield know they are just clearing out, no moves, nothing.

I do understand the concern. It often seems we run routes that are "independent" of one another & are more hoping someone wins due to talent than scheming the defense into a compromised position.

DING DING DING I've said this for years. Our offense is simple, rely on your guy to win the battle. There is no scheming to it at all.
