Broaddus: Not sounding positive on Tapper

I was hoping we could hit on either DT Collins or Tapper. Early on in minicamp and OTAs it looked like we might have hit on both and then Collins broke his foot and Tapper has a sore back. But, you know, Dak seems to make me forget all about it and not worry :)

yea but what's the deal with him..what injury does he have? when is he expected to play?

He had his knee scoped in June so it was just a matter of time for him to return to practice, which he did last week. I'd expect him to play this week.

What, an injury that this organization stated wasn't serious
, only later to turn out to be worse than previously stated....I can't believe it, I'm shocked I tell you, SHOCKED!!!(SARCASM)

Yeah, because you generally know immediately about that stuff.

Quest for Six decent posts still on. Only six to go. You can do it bro!

It's Plan B. Tapper isn't going to make the 53; they are hiding him to stash him on the PS. :D
Plan B got us a Novacheck,,,, oh not the same plan B,, nevermind.... my bad

On a serious note, DE will be an issue throughout the entire season, but that doesnt mean it wont improve, and Marinelli will manufacture a pass rush, theres always a way to counter your weakness. We can generate a pass rush with well timed, and executed bltizes, M is keeping it really vanilla at this point, being so early, not going to show his hand early until the Giants opener, but this D can bring pressure from the 1 and 3 tech, and SSLB will be a launching point coming off Crawfords push.... lots of ways to skin a cat...

On the surface, it seems Broaddus may suspect Tapper's back issues are significantly more severe than what the team has reported at this time. Other than that, it's anyone guess. Can't help but wonder if he suspects Tapper's back issue is an exaggerated claim by Tapper to avoid practice when he's physically able to do so but not mentally disposed to try. If so, it's quite understandable why he might be reluctant to claim as much. (Understand that I'm not necessarily saying it's so, but the thought haunts me . . .)

Golden, I'm interested in growth on the entire defensive side this season. I see next season as the set point for the future there...but this one could be interesting as well.

If injuries bother you then football is not a good sport to follow. That is doubly so now that they cannot just rub dirt on the wound and send a player back out on the field.
