Coordinators absolutely need coaching, as do the position coaches. I think you're spot on in your first post saying the HC needs to be a big picture guy, but If you think the HC is a face for player motivation you have it completely backwards. Players spend more time with coordinators and position coaches than they ever will their HC. The HC gets the spotlight pre game speech but real motivation happens way before that.Coordinators don’t need coaching. Some coordinators even have head coaching experience.
I’ll take game experience and gut feeling.
I hope this team returns to the 5-11 seasons so the fans revolt.Witten as HC would be so Jerry.
Comfortability, inexperienced, cheap, malleable.....what more could Jerry want?
Not that anyone would or should care, but this would definitely do it(quit)for me.No one would be excited about Witten.
Witten may actually get some to quite this team
I see Lane Kiffin before Riley.......his father of course worked for Jerry and he would get an endorsement from Nick Saban. But honestly, since he needs an entire coaching staff, I just don't see him putting that kind of trust in a young guy with limited experience. Remember McCarthy was hired coz they thought we were a SB team but needed a coach who could take us to the next level. One of the beat writers was saying Jerry as a rule generally hires experienced/season coaches. This is why someone like Gruden, Belichick or Saban seems to make sense but again, this is Jerry.I really dont think he would go with Witten. I could see Lincoln Riley though
Not my job...I'd think hard about going th
I know it's not your job. Your job is to **** on anything Cowboys. I was wondering if you actually had a choice as to who should be the coach or had your backside in position to let loose no matter who they hire.e college route...force me to go Pro, I'd take Aaron Glenn.
Yep the old band that never even tasted a NFCCG. Would be the perfect Jerry hire for the big top.Romo as QBs coach! Bring back DWare as DC. Get the old band back together.
And he can teach the players how to get around the star on an electric bike to save time and walking!!And Terrance illiams as wr coach! He'll teach them the art of body catching!
As of January 13, 2025, Lane Kiffin’s buyout at Ole Miss is $3 million if he leaves before the end of 2025.I would support that hire. Kiffin is really smart and the players love him. It would be good timing for him too b/c he just lost his QB. One snag is that Kiffin makes 9M per year at Ole Miss and there might a buy out. So, is Jerry willing to double the pay of his head coach?
But he likes liquor more than coaches. As of January 13, 2025, Lane Kiffin’s buyout at Ole Miss is $3 million if he leaves before the end of 2025.
Jerry spends more on Liquor each year
When they get serious about winning, I won't **** on them anymore. But there have been zero signs of that for THIRTY (30) years.I know it's not your job. Your job is to **** on anything Cowboys. yeah, but Kiffin wants to coach in NFL he's said it before. Jerry could talk him in to a 5-7m a year deal with incentives that if he reaches things it goes upwards of 10m... All of it lines up IF its going to be a college coach. But he likes liquor more than coaches.
You know your job. Load up on Mexican food and make your doctor appointment. When they get serious about winning, I won't **** on them anymore. But there have been zero signs of that for THIRTY (30) years.
