No, the Cowboy options are Scandrick returning from injury, Claiborne resigning, draft picks and until this morning, Nolan Carroll.

The Cowboys can add players at any time and already have. If you missed that, its on you.

ok - case of you mixing up convos cause i've not made many comments one way or the other about who they've signed. all i said was the "logic" presented in that argument didn't add up and that was my reference.

why people take my quest for logic as taking a side is kinda beyond me anymore.

You aren't using logic, you are using covariance from probability theory. What the Cowboys are willing to pay Carr and the Cowboys adding more players at CB than they have already are different factors.

If you can't follow that, its on you.

Even if we draft two CB's, that doesn't mean we cut Carr.

Unless Jerry is just cheap (and we know he isn't), the only positive to cutting Carr at any time and saving money on this year's cap is if you're going to spend that money on this year's cap somewhere else. We have plenty of cap room right now. If the money we save by cutting Carr after June 1 is needed to sign a free agent who will suddenly be available at that time of year, then sure, cut him (even if it is for an unproven rookie who could be the 2nd coming of Clayborne's rookie year). But unless there are legitimate upgrades to your team for whom you need that money, you don't cut Carr because he's overpaid just to save the money--that doesn't make you a better team just because it's back in your pocket.

There are only two reasons to cut Carr:
1. you need that money to use on this year's team to make it better
2. All the CB's you keep are all better than Carr

You can rollover cap space. The entire 9m saved could be added to next year's total.

Again, point being that it doesn't make our team better this year; if keeping Carr makes us a better team this year, keep him. If you think you have 3 CBs better than him, then sure, cut him and roll the cap space over to next year.

He doesn't make us better, the money is just another great reason to cut him.

Glad you posted that, I was going to. We shouldn't keep a mediocre player at a high price no matter what the rest of the roster looks like. We can get a mediocre corner for a hell of a lot less and use it down the road...it doesn't have to be used today.
