From everything that's been reported Jones will be moving the safety so the Cowboys can't be cutting corners so to speak. I would expect we'll draft at least one corner in April.

And if we draft a corner relatively high there's no way we keep Carr at his current salary. No way we tie up that much money in one position. Sacndrick is not cheap either.

If we draft a corner relatively high as in the second round I don't expect Carr to be back unless he's willing to take a substantial pay cut. The Cowboys need depth at the position so they have to hang onto him until they have a replacement. We always here you can never have enough corners and we're in no position to be cutting any yet. Once free agency plays out and we have the draft we'll have a better idea who will be on the roster at the start of the 2016 season.

Only a bad team would be held hostage by Brandon Carr. Sad and funny at the same time

What has our hands tied is we don't have a replacement for Carr and until we do we have to hang onto him. You can't cut your starting corner until you have another option that you believe is a better option.

DAL can designate him a June 1st cut right now and get the same benefits.

But till you have a replacement there is no rush to do it
If we get a CB in the draft then we can cut him and when it's done doesn't matter
I personally wouldn't draft Ramsey as a safety after using last years first pick on a safety but there may be good CB prospects there in second round

We have- Mo, OScandrick, BJones, TMitchell, Olatoye, JThomas, 9 draft picks and the rest of FA

We can afford to cut our 9.1m, 0 INT CB

It usually takes two years after the fan base has had enough for the team to take action.

Many were screaming to replace the OL and it took two years plus to start.

Same thing here. Carr outlived his utility last camp, and he probably gets another year.

We didnt have a choice last year. Carr started the whole season.

And they could have cut him last year.

It is not a recent thing where his lack of salary vs. production balance has been an issue.

But he is still here. Like a case of herpes.

It may make you feel better cutting him today but it changes nothing if you cut him later

Had we done that, who would've played at LCB? We lost Scandrick in August. We only had 3 corners after that.

What makes everybody think Carr's holding the Cowboys hostage? He has zero leverage. He's demonstrably overpaid. There are veteran options available for what probably amounts to what we'd want him to cut his salary to, and we've still got the draft sitting in front of us. The longer we hold onto him, the worse his position gets. And we just cleared the money to bring in a replacement whether he agrees to negotiate or not.

If he's not careful, we're going to hold onto him until after the draft and then cut him loose to try to find a home once the FA money has largely dried up.

And, no, we weren't in a position to cut him last season. With Mo's performance a question mark and his status for this season uncertain, and the team poised to make a run, it'd have been redonkulous to create a hole at CB after working so hard to improve the DL. That was never going to happen. We approached him re: an extension, and he rolled the dice. As he should have. *Last* year, he had leverage. The one with the most leverage wins.

It makes feel better to cut him in 2015

If he twists an ankle walking to the bank we can be on the hook for the entire 9.1m

Just cut him and move on

He is so replaceable that they could get by just fine with guys already on the roster

We went 4-12 and he had 0 INTs.

We could have played literally anyone and saved 9m.

August? Who cuts expensive players in August.

Preseason and camp injuries happen all the time.

The Scandrick injury would just be another one of the series of unfortunate events that created the illusion that a 12-4 team could not possibly ever finish 4-12.

We could have signed Carr after he waited all summer to sign with someone for 9m since he wouldn't take a pay cut.

Revisionist history is not a new thing for you but in this situation here it's particularly egregious.

Rightly or wrongly this team came into last year with superbowl aspirations. In that situation you don't cut a starting vet corner with those hopes over 4m a year (about what Carr is overpaid).

And Carr isn't nearly as bad as this board makes him out to be.

You're embarrassing yourself.

He doesn't mean it seriously. He's fishing for attention.
