I always figured he would be back one way or the other. The team just does not have the depth at the position to let him go especially if we want Jones to play safety.

The main goal should be to fix the pass rush anyways, that is the best way to upgrade our secondary.

I don't have a problem with keeping just about the whole group in the secondary, going into the draft. The team knows exactly what to expect with them, and they aren't blowing the top out of the cap status as well. They are solid, and with an addition at both cornerback and safety, this could actually become a good group...with increased time together.

Yep, just bite the bullet and bring back Hardy, hope for a full offseason and training camp and that he won't be a jerk. No rookie in this draft is going to have an impact Hardy will have. Hech, bring back Ware too

As I said in another post. Carr and Mo are perfect corners for Marinelli's defense. Marinelli likes his defense to get no sacks, turnovers and don't even think about stopping the run. First page of the Defensive playbook has in big bold letter: "Don't waste energy stopping the run". In Marinelli's defensive system the players are told to run around the field but at no time make any football type plays.

Carr is the team captain and role model of this bold new strategy.

Why is it that the Cowboys always have trouble acquiring corners?

The more FA CBs that sign elsewhere and are off the market, the less negotiating leverage Carr's agent has after he gets cut and the more leverage Dallas has in telling Carr to take a pay cut if he wants to stay.

The issue is that Carr would need to take too big of a pay cut for it to make sense to the Cowboys, so he very likely goes elsewhere.
