Why do people want to leave the left alone like it’s been great? Tyler has been awful at time and might be better suited to the right. He looked lost for long stretches against Houston. Meanwhile, Tyron has been the best OT in football for large stretches on the left. If Tyron is good to go, he should be right back in his natural spot.

The bolded section of your paragraph is an absolutely fake news. I posted an all-22 breakdown of the oline versus the Texans and that is definitely not the case.

It all depends on Jason Peters. Can he play 65-70 plays at RT? Seems to me he is as capable of playing RT as Tyron Smith. Peters played RT at one point in his career too.

It shouldn't depend on the short timer. It should depend on the guy you might still have a future with the team.

Tyron taking RT would be a huge tell that he won't be back next year.

In this scenario, Martin is the one guy changing spots. McGovern would be switching sides. To right guard, where he’s played better.
You are changing 3 out of the 5 spots.

That's what was just reported on 105.3..... It won't last long, though. Tyron won't be able to stay out of the trainers room. He spends so much time there he should retire and become part of the training staff.

Peters LT
Tyler at LG
Their thought process wouldn't have Peters starting, as they are worried about him and his age playing extended snaps. Tyler/McGovern would stay intact on the left side and Tyron would replace Steele.

He sure knows the protocols by memory

Not sure how many people know this, but he was originally a RT for us with Doug Free at LT. Then, it turned out that Doug Free wasn't very good at the LT spot, so they switched him and Smith, which is how Smith ended up being our LT for such a long time. So, I think it's smart to let him get back to being the RT considering that he's just coming off of a major injury. It gives him a chance to go against the lesser of the DEs, so that he can get back into a rhythm.

hmmm, why? I don't get the logic
I just think Peters is more experienced and Tyler is becoming the next Larry Allen at guard and can become his long term position.

Tyron at RT can absolutely dominate the 2nd tier pass rusher. But may be getting a bit too old/slow to dominate at LT. It would also prolong his career and add versatility to the line.

Next year let Steele and Tyron compete for both.

I think they're looking at it as Tyler Biadasz is the weak link. You likely won't have to help Tyron. Zach Martin can essentially iso a DT or end and that leaves McGovern and Biadasz to help each other. I think this move is about keeping athleticism at RT that were missing with Steele. A lot of Tyron injuries last year were McGovern getting beat and falling into his lower legs

Current starting lineup:

Tyler-McGovern-Biaz-Martin-Steele

Tyron-Tyler-Biaz-McGovern-Martin

That's too much shuffling and continuity thrown out the window.

Their own plan was to play Tyron at left tackle and Tyler at left guard anyway. They said that themselves.

They weren't changing sides where it becomes more difficult. Yes, McGovern has played on the right side, but has taken all reps at LG this season.

And I’m not suggesting anyone should. That’s my point actually. I’m not sure what you’re not understanding?

Tyler has been a great surprise this year and the potential is there to be a really good player, but people are still for some reason acting as if he is playing at a really high level right now. He has been good with flashes of really good and also some issues, which is all amazing and a great sign for the future for a rookie. Tyron should be the LT the day he can run out of the tunnel. Tyler moves to LG or RT. Don't care which, but he needs to stay on the field as well because he is obviously one of our best 5. But moving Tyron is just not smart and I don't think it is going to happen

The sky might fall...

We need media to report things that actually happen, not what might happen.
Duke knows they've practiced him there but no final decision had been made.
This is really just another sign they plan to roll with Tyler at LT for the next decade.

I'd probably go: Tyron, Tyler, TB, Martin, Peters/Ball
But I get them wanting to allow Tyler to just stick and continue to develop.
