Broaddus's price to trade up for Hunter

Oh, I don't think it's winning football, either. Football is a team game, so as long as you have more weak links than other teams, you are likely to fail.

I do agree that it contradicts their draft approach, which is why I don't see them doing it. In the past, my approach to the draft has been trying to figure out the best way to maximize their approach. I'm no longer worried about that. Now, I just want to have fun. Trading up and taking Hunter would be fun.
Yeah I’m for it I just wouldn’t have fun with Hunter. I just don’t think he’s worth the pick. I don’t think he’s the best corner or receiver in this draft but he’s about to be the first one taken.

Makes no sense . Trade down get a couple more premium picks . Like another teams 2nd and 4th . Plus the one you’ve moved down to . A playoff team from last year may be willing to do it .

Now you have a one two seconds your own third and now you’ve gotten the 4 back from the Mingo trade. Your not going to get two # 1 picks for moving down this yrs and next not happening .

Still stupid. Because while you might not win this year how do you plan on putting a team around him when you don’t use FA and trade away a couple of prime picks?

A WR or CB isn’t franchise altering.
You keep quoting me in every thread w this same nonsense over and over again.

The draft isnt and shouldnt be for winning now. Most of these players take time to develop. The Cowboys adding lets say Mykel Williams at 12 and Kaleb Johnson at 44 isnt moving the needle in the grand scheme of things.

Lets not act like our second round picks have been high impact lately as well.

It'd be cool to add Hunter, but I would only support a trade up if fell a bit further. Realistically, he'll go 2 or 3 and that will 100% involve next year's first.

With Dak aging and hurt more frequently, we need all of our future firsts because we never know when we will a new QB.

We should have tanked. Can you imagine sitting where the Giants are at 3? Knowing for certain you are going to get either Carter or Hunter.

That's fair. If you don't believe he's an elite prospect in this draft, then you should be against trading up for him.

YEah but is that worth a top 10 pick? I don't think so.
I do. I think he's a premium player who can make Lamb better with his presence at receiver on some downs and make our secondary better.

If we traded up for him, I'd start him out at corner full time because all we've got besides Bland are some late-round/UDFA types and a first-round bust that we traded for. I'd mix him in some at receiver but limit it. Then when Diggs returns, I'd switch him to only playing defense in the nickel and give him more snaps on offense.

Dane Brugler has called Hunter the best player in this draft.

Yeah it’s weird….he is an elite prospect he’s a gifted player. It’s incredibly tough to play two positions at a high level. I’m unsure of his NFL position at top 5. At 12? I’d take him for sure.

Because our 2nd round picks have generally been duds in the past doesn't mean you should throw away future ones to go chase a WR or CB. Again, even if you are throwing away this year how do you plan to build a team around Hunter if you throw away a bunch of premium picks to go get him and then refuse to use FA?

This is nothing more than collecting shiny toys. This franchise isn't in a position to throw away a bunch of picks for one guy unless that guy might be a QB.

If Mykel Williams and Johnson turn into very good players and then you throw in another good player with next year's first round pick, it absolutely moves the needle more than Travis Hunter if he also becomes a good NFL player.

You aren't getting Hunter for 12 and 2nd round pick, by the way. If he's there at 12, then absolutely, take him. Shoot if he slides to 9 or 10, I'd entertain a move up then as well. But I am most certainly not giving away a first round pick next year, which is likely the asking price to get into the Top 5, to go chase Hunter. Given how this team builds a roster, that's just bad roster management IMO.
