That there is only 4 legit first round talents in this draft.

Can't say I agree but when picking at 27 this really confirms my stance on wanting to trade down and load up on as many role players as possible.

Everyone wants to trade back and acquire more picks. People act like it is some great theory they came up with after watching millions of hours of film.

But it's a perfect draft for Dallas.

We have a lot of holes and there is a lot of solid role players in this draft.

I wish we had more picks.

I'd rather trade out of the first round and try to acquire 2 or 3 more picks.

I agree 100%. I have always wanted quality over quantity. If you are fielding only backups and you feel your team is close to being a contender it is a waste. Now if you are rebuilding then take chances on jags, but to draft for them to sit on a bench and learn the system and scheme for 3 to 4 years is a flat out waste. I say direct yourself to draft starter material. Of course all 7 rounds isn't going to start but at least focus the first 3 rounds to be starters or at most 3rd down rotational players and not all special team guys.

Whether someone likes broaddus or not really does not matter for this specific conversation.

What one should focus on is that a GM in the NFL right now thinks that there are only 4 legit first rounders in the draft this year and how crazy that sounds.

I heard there were only three superior talents a while ago. Leonard Williams, Gurley and DGB. I also keep hearing there are around 17 with first round grades.

I can't stand broaddus. Such an *** clown. So when we see trades galore in the first of teams trading up for guys they don't see them as elite talent. Sureeeeeeee

Without being able to compare to other years to form a standard this quote really doesnt mean much to me. This draft ostensibly isn that poor at the top. so, would this GM think that other lesser drafts had no 1st round talent in it? If so, there is really nothing you can do about it.

How many first rounders did that GM think there were last year? Personally, I think the RBs are better this year, CBs are better this year, 3/4 OLBs are better this year. WRs arent that far off from last year. Interior D line is better this year. I didnt like the qbs last year and I dont like them this year and the safeties arent great this year just like last year.

It may not be exactly about the quality of the draft but making sure you get the player you want. Trades usually go down for teams looking to ensure they get their specific player, not move up to where the talent is better.

Most teams have tier ratings. I think the Cowboys divide round 1 into 3 parts. They will rate a player R1-1, R1-2 or R1-3.

The GM probably told Broaddus that there were only 4 tier 1 players.

They should publish a Wonderlic score for all media guys. My guess:
Sturm 40
Broaddus 12
Calvin Watkins 1

Some bag on Broaddus, Some bag on Mickey...I tell you someone who is on a lot of the Cowboys.com web shows that really annoys me...Steve Dennis.
Guy is so annoying and one track minded that I wish they never brought him in.
