Some bag on Broaddus, Some bag on Mickey...I tell you someone who is on a lot of the Cowboys.com web shows that really annoys me...Steve Dennis.
Guy is so annoying and one track minded that I wish they never brought him in.

I don't listen to any of their shows anymore, but Dennis annoyed the heck out of me when he was on CBS channel 11 and in press conferences.

Do you remember the time that Keith Brooking went off on him. They were doing a show together is was something like The Keith Brooking weekly show or something like that where Dennis was the co-host.

Other local media guys don't like Mickey or Dennis.

Broaddus is probably a nice guy and other local media seem to like him. He just says some of the most illogical things. It probably irritates me more because he is the one local media guy that should have some football expertise.

I think that might have been where he made the statement of something like...He has to be the bad guy on CBS11 but he does not here...I think someone here has that in their sigline.

Oh and I start watching the web shows a couple months out from the draft. After the draft is over I tend to stop watching them again until the next off season.

I think Steve Dennis was the person who asked the stupid Adrian Peterson question to Jerry Jones yesterday.

I have not even seen who replaced him and Babe on CBS channel 11. If figured that Babe would get into local sports talk radio, but he seems to have disappeared from the scene.

It was Jon Daniels. Kevin Johnson is terrible at fielding those one-hoppers.

Whether someone likes broaddus or not really does not matter for this specific conversation.

What one should focus on is that a GM in the NFL right now thinks that there are only 4 legit first rounders in the draft this year and how crazy that sounds.

I see it, and i dont think the QBs are one of them. Both need alot of work. Leonard Williams, Dante Fowler, Amari Cooper, Kevin White i would put as players over all. But because of posistion, Mariota and Winston will go before them.

Williams, Cooper, White, Gurley, Schreff at OG, DeVante Parker, Beasley for a Pass rushing OLB for 3-4 teams, Malcom Brown and whether we like the QBs or not,They would be first rounders in most years because of position.

So that would be 10...that does not even count someone like Shane Ray who is only falling due to a toe injury and off he field issues that popped up.

Now one could argue like Xwalker that they break it down to 1st round talent in a tier of high end picks only being four must have guys. But I think most of the players I listed would be first round talents in most drafts.

Weak draft. I'm reading comments on guys with low productivity in college like "he will be a better pro than college player". Sure hope that's not the our philosophy. They need to do like last year with Martin and go with the safe pick. It wouldn't surprise me to see a lot of first round picks not in the NFL in a few years.

Believe it was Adam Caplan who was on Mike & Mike this morning and said he was told by front office/scouting people that they had 10 guys with first round grades.

I think rating players by round is pretty stupid. We pick by rounds because there are 32 teams, not because there are seven tiers of players. Unless some team takes a player in the first round of the supplemental draft or gets busted for cheating or running bounties on the opposition, there are going to be at least 32 picks in each round, including the first. So, by what metric are we determining which players are the first-round talents? Do we expect there to be 32 of them and colleges are just not producing? Has there ever been a draft with 32 players graded as "first-round talents?" I understand that there are differences in money and contractual obligations between the first two rounds, but, really, how much more do you expect from a player selected #27 than you do the guy taken six slots later?

Edit: Seems to me there's a lot more than seven tiers of players. Makes a heck of a lot more sense to say "there are only four tier one players this year" than it does "there are only four first-round players in this draft." I don't buy that number anyway. How many teams outside the top four are ready to trade down for whatever they can get because they don't like the talent and want to save money?

We

We're about due for a special teams draft.

Difference between just having a crappy draft...and going into the draft with the idea of getting Special Team backup players that might become starters down the road.

We might be due for a crappy draft...I don't think we will be pulling that special teams draft philosophy anytime again in the near future.

Pat Kirwan just said a GM told him only 6 players had 1st round grades. Kirwan said he doesn't believe that, he thinks there is more than that.

I can't stand broaddus. Such an *** clown. So when we see trades galore in the first of teams trading up for guys they don't see them as elite talent. Sureeeeeeee

Broaddus wasn't giving HIS opinion, he was repeating something a GM told him. What part of that don't you understand?

That there is only 4 legit first round talents in this draft.

Can't say I agree but when picking at 27 this really confirms my stance on wanting to trade down and load up on as many role players as possible.

Never go with quantity over quality. If you can trade down and stay in the same quality range, then okay.

1 very good player is far better than 2 average players. 2 very good players are better than 5 average players.

You need players that can make an impact. Not just bodies on the field.

True but i think alot of people are getting a eye on what teams think on how many teams are trying hard to trade back. And i was driving to work the other day listening to the NFL channel on sirius and there was a guy on there saying word going around is Leonard Williams could fall because the media is much higher on him than NFL teams are.

Ive said it alot this yr, this doesnt look like a very good draft. Of course it just could look like that and a yr from now it could be great. You just never know and thats what makes the NFL great. sometimes when players get a check they want more and ball out, sometimes they get the money and want to live it up after a life of poverty and fall. And sometimes we get to see these lower round and undrafted guys who love the game so much that they just turn into superstars like Brady and Romo. I have never been a Romo fan but you just have to be amazed where this guy started out and what he is today.

I think "special teams" draft is a code word for crappy draft.
