Brock Purdy on why he took a team friendly contract

I wonder how many of these guys that are dissing Dak for his pay check, will walk in tomorrow and ask for a pay cut? Always easy to talk about another man's money....
If anything I would be walking in and demanding a pay raise. Unlike Dak, most of us earn the pay checks we desire.

THIS. Timing is everything. We waited to sign Dak and he goes out and came in second in MVP voting so we had to pay king ransom.

This was Dak's stats in 2023.
Dak Prescott had a passer rating of 105.9 with 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns and 9 interceptions in 17 games in 2023. Which may have been the best year of his career stats wise.
Except for one minor detail.... you pay top dollar for champions and MVP's, not runner ups and 1 and done losers like Dak. At least Purdy made it to a super bowl.

Dak and Purdy both have yet to prove they’re worth their contracts. And they’ve got plenty of company in the “brotherhood” in that regard.
Sure there are others no doubt. So what. I'll stop grumbling when he gets us to the superbowl.

But saying that Dak is greedy is justified.

Dak is overpaid, no doubt, but he is far from being alone.
True, he's far from the only only one. The thing is, most of us here only focus on what is happening with the Cowboys and their players. I have no idea what is going on with other teams, and honestly don't care. Many of us here at CZ probably feel the same way. How many of us, myself included, can say what Joe Burrow or Josh Allen get paid? We can't and really don't care. If I really wanted to know I would Google it, but I don't care about it enough to find out. But we absolutely care about franchise killing contracts like Dak's. If he had more playoff success it would be easier to justify, but we're not at that point and will probably never get there.

That's the difference between being a decent human being and a scumbag.

My most hated player ever. Hate him like a Jones.

This is something his critics don't seem to understand about his supporters .........We ALL agree he isn't worth 60M per year.
All the big money in sports kinda takes enjoyment out of sports for me. I don't blame them for getting what they can, but I have to wonder how many really go all out to win knowing they're gonna be well off no matter what the outcome?

If we only worry about the Cowboys, why have a Purdy thread on the fan forum? Why? Just another reason to attack Dak for news from. 2 years ago. As far as it affecting the Cowboys, we left money in the cap last year, is it Daks fault that Jerry didn't use it to get another player? Just another STUPID, hate on one of own, threads. Many around here live for that crap. Have fun

There is a saying in Spanish that translates to...are you, or do you just look like you are? Many around here, ARE! Lol

It's pretty simple really, teams that want to win negotiate with players as such and don't wait until the leaves fall when making financial decisions. Kc, Buffalo, San fran, rams, etc.

But when you play in Dallas where money and Forbes lists are all that matters, then you take the bag everytime and think nothing of it cause you've already met your goal. All you have to do is drop the occasional sound byte that you'd pay any price for a championship or the ultimate goal is the super bowl. Just don't say the quiet part out loud, "Mr Jones takes a bath in 100 dollar bills on his yacht in the Caribbean regardless of how I play, so I will take that 60 million per and rebuild my house."

do you even know how this works? Obviously you dont. Why would anyone call? the niners would have tagged his arse no matter what. He had zero leverage. Unlike Dak, who was an unrestricted free agent( do you know what that means?
Bro never heard of trades, lol

 All these people on here talking about how he took a team-friendly discount, like the 49ers offered him $300 mil, and he said, "Nope, that's too much. Let's drop that to $265 mil." That's just plain BS. He took every dollar he could get; he just wasn't offered more. The false narratives thrown around on this forum are truly comical sometimes.

I don’t know if he’s greedy or that any other NFL player is greedy. I know the Dallas Cowboys made a significant financial commitment to Dak Prescott. I don’t know if the Cowboys had a definitive plan on the 52 guys they’re going to sign to join him on the roster when they signed Dak.

At this point fan$ have every reason to be “grumbling”.

Dak is overpaid

Josh Allen, Mahomes and even Brady all did the same for their teams whether it was through contract terms or salary.
Wonder if the fact that those guys were raised in stable, upper middle class or higher, families....while Dak's family struggled. Single parent, that suffered through cancer and the financial stress that comes with that, have anything to do with that. I know I was the youngest of 4 boys, by 5 to 10 years, had something to do with the person I became. A butt hole that doesn't take crap from anyone.
