Broncos CB Darrent Williams Killed.

That's horrible. I hope they find the shooter quickly. Thoughts and prayers for his family... horrible.

What is wrong with people these days?

Deepest condolences to his family, and to the Broncos nation.

terrible news...thoughts and prayers out to his family and friends...

very very sad, i woke up and turned espn on and saw this, so very sad. Last season after we lost to Seattle, i was pissed off, my mother then told me that my teacher had just died, freak accident, died trying to fix lights for a church service. It makes everything else just not matter at all. When something like this happens, football doesnt matter, nothing matters. Just so very sad

condolences to his family

Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.

Sounds like he was a standup guy and a good dad considering he was going back to Texas to talk to his kids about gangs.

Good guys lost another one. :(

I hate to say this but My god I hope it wasn' any thing to do with an asswipe fan. Hopefully not even a chance.

My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Honestly, this is the first thought that hit me. I hope it wasn't an angry fan.

He went to high school in Fort Worth, TX. When he was announced he said his high school instead of college like some players do and I was like "wow he's from Fort Worth that's cool" so I kinda rooted for him. It's really sad.

That is cool. His high school was a rival of my old high school. My friend knows some of his people there, and she always had good things to say about him.

This is pretty horrible to hear and so senseless.

Mark Schlereth said it best.

Senseless loss
The NFL at its core is a big fraternity and today we lost one of our own. I didn't know Darrent Williams that well. We'd only met once or twice, the first time coming after he was drafted by the Broncos in the second round of the 2005 draft. He was excited to start his new journey and was confident that he could prove he belonged in this league. He did prove he belonged on the big stage.

In the coming days we're going to hear a lot of stuff about how athletes were out of control in 2006, but we can't forget that this was a 24-year old kid who lost his life. This is bigger than a football player or a football team; this is about a kid whose life ended prematurely. This is about a kid who was realizing his dreams and it just smacks of senselessness to me. There's no reason we should be writing eulogies for 24-year old kids & absolutely none.

My heart goes out to his family and friends who are suffering from this untimely loss.

tragic. that's why I say the safest place to be on new years eve is at home or at church. One of my co-workers is a friend of his. She has pictures with him on her ******* page.

did he make any really bad plays in the Niners game? I am thinking that maybe some crazy Denver die hard, lost it cause Denver missed the playoffs...and the fan lost lots of money gambling and decided to take it out on somebody

Damn, horrible. Hope they find the SOB that did and give him the needle.

That being said, when are athletes/stars gonna learn to not get mixed up in stuff that leads to things like this? This was obviously no random attack.
