You will never stop gang violence until you cure the poverty of the inner city.

This was not a crime about poverty, nor the plight of anyone who grew up in the inner city.

It was a crime committed by ignorant people. They did not go shoot up a limo over more than idiotic "disrespect".

By all accounts, Walker, Williams and others came into contact with some very bad characters.

The fact that there is poverty in the inner city is no excuse for these gangbangers' territoriality and animalistic view in dealing with others.

At least he HAS his life - what a tragedy. So sad man....
No kidding. The more details that are coming out on this the worse it sounds.

There are some PRO athletes that act worse than gang bangers, if thats possible. They aren't poor.

But the tragic little things grew up poor!

That is an excuse to act like an animal, or didn't you know that?

I sure didn't come from a "money" back ground. I chose to get my self better things in life and to make a better environment for my Kids.
I'm a NYorker by birth a North Carolinian by choice.

None of that takes away from a tragedy that a player can't go to a club.
Also makes me think, how poor are the gang bangers if they were at a club with a starting NFL player? Or was he slummin it?

Unless I heard him wrong, Schefter said they were at Carmelo Anthony's party and were on their way to Allen Iverson's when this happened.

They were not out at a seedy dive in a bad section of town. They were at a party hosted by Anthony. So obvious Anthony allows or attracts that kind of element.

Much like the imbeciles here who wished Owens' plane to Dallas would have crashed.

I just read it was Kenyon Martin's party.

They are humans. How much do you want to bet our own players went out last night? It was New years eve. We lost, I went out.

I wanted to go out, but I came down with a cold on Saturday. I know more people that went out than stayed in. That is what happens on New Year's. Plus the Broncos season was over. The players didn't have to think about next week. It is a tragic incident and in the end it won't matter what caused it. It was just stupid for someone(s) to shoot at other people. There is no sense in it.

I kind of thought that it was a case of self-hatred. And if those last reports are true, that's just what it was.
