 Garrett's name comes up. The Broncos have to pay Shanahan the rest of his 20 Million and are not looking for an expensive coach according to Schefter.

Garrett would be a good fit there.

JG is making 3mil a year, they're gonna have to pay him at least that...

This, admittedly, is as waffling an opinion as there is. But I'll say it anyway.

I don't know what to root for with Garrett. Hope he leaves? Pray he stays and we can nurture him into a head coach someday? I have no clue, honestly.

Mentally, I'm at a point where I feel pretty confident this team needs some major shakeup, yet every major character is set to return next season. So even if Garrett could be good down the road, a part of me wants to root for him to leave for this reason alone. If his exit can help lead to a shakeup here, maybe it's for the better.

I'm just not convinced we can win with Wade, Garrett and this cast of players. So something has to give, even if it takes another organization stepping in and forcing our hand.

I think Garret was Handcuffed this year. I think it is on Phillips and I don't think he prepared this team to play and he made them soft.

Give Garret the opportunity to do what he thinks is best and maybe we will have a great HC/OC here.

I'm where you're at, although I'm leaning strongly towards "get the hell out"

You cant blame the offense on Phillips, that is Garretts job and Garretts job alone.

Maaan if you read all my posts, I've said the exact same thing. WP coaching style hinders any coordinators performance because he isn't disciplined enough and demand focus and accountability from his players. It all starts with WP and he killed this team...

You cant just absolve RJ from all responsibility for his units lack of preparedness and lack of production because you dislike Wade Phillips.

Well, if you don't practice and you don't have walk throughs it's kinda tough to get an offense in sync. Add to that a WR who comes over in mid season and then have your Starting QB not work with him for several weeks while he recuperates from a finger injury and you pretty much have the makings for a disaster.

Can't blame Garret for the practice schedule and powder puff treatment.

Plus, this offense was soft because of it. Once a defense took it to us we were waving the white flag. Our guys, I hate to say it, were soft, very soft.

Dude your sooo wrong with this statement. Of course its JG job but he can't do his job when the players run the team and have absolutely no discipline because the HC allows it. Norv and Wanstadt were outstanding coordinators because Jimmy demanded focus, discipline, and accountabilty from his players. The coordinators new that the players were gonna do as they were told because of the fear of Jimmy and thats the bottom line. I bet JG cringes at the way WP runs this team...

I want Garrett to stay. He can and will still grow. Don't give up so easily on him.

I don't dislike WP, I hate his coaching style. Its too damn soft and he admitted so in his PC and those are the changes he's talking about....

He diddnt hold his players accountable, he let Roy Williams mope around the field without repurcussion, and he diddnt realize that Proctor sucked until the second half of our 16th game.

Mix that in with his stupid beyond belief playcalls, and you have someone who is extremely responsible for our offensive woes.

I mean, I guess Wade could have put his foot down and said "No more pitches to TO, no more speed option, no shotgun screens on 3rd and short, and maybe you might want to run a QB sneak every once in a while"

Everything your talking about all goes back to WP not JG. JG can't overrule the things that WP allows the players to do. Its JG job to teach the O and its WP job to instill discipline and accountability...

Living in Bronco country I must say I am SHOCKED that Bowlen made this move. Mostly because there hasn't been a sniff of it in the media.

But then it was Bowlen who had the guts to fire Dan Reeves who took the org to their only 3 SB appearances in history.

He stumbled by picking Wade as his successor but then wisely corrected that move with the Shanahan hire two years later.

I suspect that Garrett is very much on Bowlen's radar. I absolutely want Garrett here. But if he has to go I could be happy for him in Denver because Bowlen is a VERY good owner. Garrett would never regret that move.

THAT is not the OCs responsibility. That is the HCs responsibility to hold the players accountable.

The OCs job is to design an offense and implement it.

It didn't take him to the 16th game to realize how bad Proctor was.

He knew what he had. That's why they went to get Holland. But then he ended up hurt. Proctor knew the system at least. The only other option was McQuistan. And since he was 4th on the depth chart, you think maybe he sucked a bit more than Proctor?

Again, say what you want about the play calling but when you cannot get the offense installed, you can run the plays.

Again, it's on Wade to see that is done and he didn't.

This isnt NFL school.

No it isn't but coaches have to grow just as players do. You don't just come in knowing everything. You learn new and different things every year as a coach and player...
