Broncos steal Dawkins from Eagles

My favorite Eagle is now gone. What a sad day...

I'm glad he's getting more money, since he deserves it. Hope he continues to do a great job now with the Broncos.

I agree Dawkins was an Eagles ICON ...perhaps he should have been retained, but our GM was fully aware of the missed opportunity; meaning that they could have given Dawk a contract, but they chose not to - I'm sure they have a plan.

Surely it must have been difficult for the Eagles to let Dawk go; but we have to trust that the GM knows exactly what they're doing. Besides, FA acquisitions have just started ...while it would be difficult to obtain an acquisiton to compensate for the Wolverine ...there is that potential. Let's wait and see what happens.

I don't disagree ...however money talks!

According to a source within the negotiations, the Eagles offered Dawkins a two-year deal for pretty decent money, but the Broncos blew that one away with a five-year, $19 million offer.

The deal should really be viewed as a two-year deal, for a total of approximately $9.5 million, with $7.5 million guaranteed, according to the same source. That $7.5 million is guaranteed even if Dawkins plays just one season.

dude Lito has been a pain in our ***** for years and i am glad he and Dawkins are gone... this has nothing to do with 5 superbowls.. see recent history on the Eagles/ Cowboys rivalry... I see your point though.
