They'll lose their next 2 games and be back in the "poor to average" pile where they belong.

Don't be so sure. The Texans actually beat Indy last season, and they always seem to give the Jags fits. It would not shock me if they managed to steal a win in one of those games.

Kubiak and co. have made real progress this year, despite the fact that they have a league-leading 16 players on IR. If Andre Johnson had not missed half the season they could very well have been a playoff team.

They've never beaten the Colts in the RCA Dome from what I've read...kind of like the Pack at Texas Stadium. Won't happen this year either.

And the Jags are better than the Texans. Sorry.

2 or 3 weeks ago I was listening to 610 in Houston and every other caller was ragging on Kubiak and how he was such a stagnant coach. Always had the same excuses. Was the worse clock management coach in the league.

Uh he's ok....their 2nd string QB is better than their first string from all I've seen and their defense is on one week off the next.

Mario had a tremendous game last week. Kudos on that pick. He is finally panning out after laying a big egg for the majority of his short career.

They are a team on the rise...but then they had no where to go but up.

I am kind of amused at all the excitement over a team that MAY go 8-8 if they get lucky. Average is something to get excited about?

I have such a warped sense of sports I guess. Spoiled Dallas fan that I am...my take is if you aren't in the SB your season has been a failure. Or at the very least (and I mean the very least) in the playoffs.

And to CoogrFan you should be smiling today. The Cougars actually didn't make the bonehead hire of the decade and go with Pardee.

Probably not.

Agreed, and they always have been. The fact remains that the Texans are 6-5 all-time vs Jax.

You should know better than to listen to people who call in to sportstalk shows, they are generally knuckleheads of the first order. Kubiak has been solid this year, especially when you consider the number of starters who have missed all or part of the season.

Nah, Rosenfels isn't better than Schaub. He just has the luxury of having Andre Johnson out there. AJ draws a lot of attention from defenses, which in turn opens things up for everyone else.

Imo Schaub is clearly the better of the two qbs, he is more accurate and makes better decisions. The problem seems to be keeping him healthy. To that end upgrading the o-line (via the draft or free-agency) will likely be the #1 priority in the off-season.

In fairness, he did play hurt most of last season.

Remember, we're talking about an expansion franchise here. You gotta crawl before you can walk...

I subscribe to the theory that the Pardee talk was a negotiating ploy on DM's part. I don't know enough about Sumlin to know for sure if he's the right guy, but I do like the fact that he's a pass-oriented coach. In Dave We Trust... :)

Sometimes the callers have valid points and I do agree that Kubiak (for all his NFL experience) does make some horrid decisions...particularly on clock management. He's better than Capers as the head guy though.

The Texans have never made their O line a priority..I bet they go RB or DB.

I'm kinda bemused by the Texans fans for the most part...6 years from now if they are still "building" they'll be saying "well we're just a expansion team"...

No seriously they are better.

On Mario...I think I'm being fair to say the guy just collected a check last year and was content to do so. Most NFL players play hurt and don't use it as an excuse..I caught a whole lot of that from the Mario homers last year..."well he's hurt"...blah, blah. Well then put his butt on the bench and put somebody else in there. He whiffed last year. He was a monster last night though. Got to give him that.

And Schaub is going to have to stay upright before I give him any props. Even on the sidelines in street clothes though he's better than David Carr.

And regarding UH...I like the Coogs fine....but national respect is never coming until they move to a conference that matters. Shame a city that brags so much about being so big can't support their namesake college. Their support there is sad. But good luck on that Houston Bowl or whatever it is called. TCU is down this year. I expect the Coogs to roll.
