This sums it up perfectly.

I knew as soon as we punted the ball back to Denver with the score being 10-10 that we were going to lose.

I looked over and told my girlfriend, "watch Denver drive right down the field and get a TD here". 3 plays later Marshall jumped over T-New and broke about 15 tackles as he walked into the endzone.

I just looked at my girlfriend and said, "see, happens every time."

I bet you also said that last week when we were ahead 13-7 with about five minutes left in the game and they got the ball, right?

Wow, I did the exact same thing. As soon as we punted, I said "They're going to score here, it happens every time". She called me crazy, and that it was only 10-10. I got up and walked over to the computer to check my fantasy league and sure enough as soon as I sit down I hear the Broncos scoring.

"Wow that sucks" is all she could say. I said "yep, it's part of being a Cowboys fan."

It's a sad state of affairs when as fans we come to expect this. I don't blame the defense, they had an emotional stand on the previous Denver drive that made me proud to be a Dallas fan. The offense just could not move the chains, simple as that.

Part of is playcalling, part of it was Romo's being off. Romo certainly has to say a lot to his own team lining up, i don't know what's up with that. That might have effected his concentration, who knows. I really did like what I saw from this D though, they stepped up a ton during this game and if we can get our offense rolling midseason I have no doubt we'll win a playoff game.

The defense plays well until that moment comes in the game where you realize, "If the defense gets THIS STOP we win the game," and the defense disappears as the opposing offense scores the game winner with laughing ease.

This defense can't man up on THE STOP to win games, and hasn't for a few seasons now. Its routine.

Well, it is Wade's defense. The defense might be mimicing Wade's demeanor. A failure occurs and Wade shrugs "oh, well" and waddles away.

My fraternity has a saying, "I rather have 8 men thoroughly immersed, then 80 with lukewarm enthusiasm".

What fraternity iz that?
My junior college had no fraternities or crime syndicates, so I rely on historical figures.

Mao once said (and I paraphrase because the cantonese syntax counters the Hunan and Shanxi) "10 men will overtake a Ling pillbox. But 100 can overrun the battlefield. Take the rice ball and strike!"
Meh, there is strength in numbers! Forward to Formosa!"

Absolutely love this quote from Keith Brooking in today's DMN:

"I don't care how well you played defensively," veteran linebacker Keith Brooking said. "If you play 65 plays, and 64 of them are great and there's one play that beats you, you didn't do enough to win.

"I've been in this league 12 years. There's one thing that I realize more now than any time in my career is how precious these games are. You can't give them away."

Now that's the way I'd like to hear all of Keith's teammates talk and, certainly, how Wade ought to address our team.

Here is another gem from Chairman Mao: ...power grows out of the barrel of [the shot]gun.
