Brooks' 15-yard touchdown at Carolina had a completion probability of only 11%

He threw a side arm slider that moved away from the defense. Luck? Skill? Both?

Considering how inaccurate Rush is on the move 11% seems generous. It was a well designed play and a great throw and catch.

Best play from Cooper Rush all game.

actually, this wasn't a very good throw. any competent defender would have either intercepted or knocked it down. it was into double coverage with one defender in front and one trailing.
but I take luck over good anyday of the week.

As one of the broadcasters said, it might have been Rush's best throw of the year. He's not a quarterback who can put enough on the ball or place it well on the run.

He threw it to a spot where only his receiver could catch it. He throws that shorter or flatter and the front defender knocks it down or intercepts it. He throws it behind the receiver and the trailing defender catches up and knocks it away. If he throws it wider or deeper, it's caught out of bounds at best.

I can understand not carrying for Rush, but that was a very good throw. The TD he had earlier to Lamb was a poor throw that Lamb made a great adjustment to, making sure to get his hands under it before hitting the ground.

The only thing that separates an improbable great play from a stupid improbable crappy play is the success (or lack of success) of the play.

it was a good throw, but a better defensive team and that throw had a greater chance of being intercepted. you can take those type of risks against lesser teams like Panthers.
