Okay the first pick might be a stretch but if he's there, I would love to have him. If were going OL in the first, I really like Bulaga. Just have a feeling we will not go O-line in the first, especially at guard. This draft is in Prime Time, JJ may get pumped up and pull the trigger on a game breaker in the first, so who else but Golden Tate!

Mock Draft #1

1. Golden Tate (WR) - ND 5-11 200 4.4

2. Nate Allen (FS) S. Florida 6-1 205 4.5

3. John Jerry (G/T) Ole Miss 6-5 330 5.3

4. Eric Olsen (C) ND 6-4 310 5.1

5. Marshall Newhouse (G) TCU 6-4 330 5.1

6. Robert Vaughn (FS) UCONN 6-0 202 4.5

7. Leigh Kiffin (K) ALA 6-2 212 5.0

omg, if we go with the first 3 picks it would be the draft of the century, forget the rest !!. Maybe a guy like Banks in the 6th instead of Vaughn for the return game but man oh man the first 3 picks are perfect. I hope Tate falls to us in the 1st, no doubt jerry would pull the trigger.

I could certainly live with that.. though I have a feeling that Nate Allen won't last past the Eagles in the 2nd round.

was thinking the same thing. We might have to trade up. There have even been some reports that we reach in the 1st, doubt it though.

swap out the 4th rder for Micah Johnson or Daryl Washington and the 6th for the NC NT Cam Thomas and I'd take it

Why the heck should we draft a WR?
Because we have a worthless WR in Roy, and we need someone to go with Austin, Ogletree, and Crayton.

Roy ain't going anywhere this year. His contract pretty much makes any discussion of cutting him moot.

Maybe so, but it's a shame we're keeping a worthless PoS like him around.

Were gonna have to cut the kicker and move the other 2 down a slot. I'll stick with these players rounds 1-7 with no 5th.

Mock #2 will correct this problem and get us another pick!!

Drafting Tate has nothing to do with cutting RW at this time, maybe there's movement later but I'd start Miles, RW and Tate in 2010.

Crayton, Ogletree 4-5 guys, Obviously Ogletree continues to develop and his position moves up accordingly.

Make no mistake, none of these guys have the hands and speed of Golden Tate.

although tate could play the slot, he'd fit much better out wide since he's a huge deep threat. It would be interesting to see what jerry does.

You do know we run a two TE offense don't you? Drafting Tate won't put Marty on the bench.

If we can pick up Washington in the 4th then I'm happy as can be. And to another poster of course there is a rationale to draft a WR. Or are you content to depend on Olgetree and RW to produce #2 like stats? Not saying they can't or won't but it has to be suspect to most.
