Browns give Myles Garrett a new deal

Cowboys fans are some of the most naive fans in sports. Why do I keep hearing “Micah said he will take less” like it’s all his choice.
The other league players at his position, his teammates like Dak and Ceedee, but most importantly the NFLPA will stand in the way of him giving some huge break in the amount of his contract.

Well, once again the Jones Clan waiting to sign a player will cost them.

First Crosby sets the market. Now Garrett. So much for getting Parsons signed early.
Parsons was always going to be signed after Crosby and Garrett. This is a Justin Jefferson/CeeDee situation. Parsons can say all he wants and the Cowboys can cry poor but Cleveland showed once again the salary cap does not matter. They have the highest paid quarterback and position player in the league now.

Paying Micah or not paying Micah will make no difference.

The team is broken beyond repair.

All it will do is give us something to talk about, and I'm sure it won't be about how he helped our defense play better to win a superbowl!

Should have signed Micah earlier for a little less. Jerry and Son are just stupid…..they keep waiting on contracts until other players drive up the price. They hurt the team and are either oblivious to it, or are so arrogant and stubborn they won’t admit their old way is wrong and change…not sure which is worse.

Look at the Lamb deal. Soon as Jefferson signed Lamb got done. Same for Dak. It’s no coincidence.
It’s not the players pulling the strings-though there is some back and forth. Teams can and have moved on from “franchise” players in the past. All a team needs to do is contact the player’s agent and find out the amount they would need to offer to get a deal done immediately.

Players and agents will typically sign the deal immediately if it’s a record guarantee and terms. Players have small insurance policies that they pay on in case of major injury (though the premiums are insane and the payout a sliver of what they actually get with the new extension). They could have done a new deal after year 3-the front office likes to drag their feet on the deals. More media coverage.

I honestly don’t know. To me it makes
Sense for a guy to wait until the absolute last minute to get paid. They have nothing to lose. If they get hurt they will still
Be highly paid.
They have a lot to lose. Major injuries can limit guaranteed money and length of contract. The position played has a lot to do with it. There are plenty of guys that received limited years and guarantees because of previous injury-even if they got a nice chunk of cash in the new contract.

" I'm done with Cleveland until they get serious about winning, I wanna play for a contender on the last part of my career and go to a Superbowl". Here's 125 million guaranteed money Miles so shut up and we can worry about the draft. " Okay guys, thanks."

Well, he got a huge "sack"...of cash.

Are you saying the Cowboys soon will because the Browns do not? The Browns have the 11th highest paid QB and him being the worst starting QB, and possibly worst backup QB, in the NFL is why they went from having the potential to be a contender to struggling to make the playoffs.

Micah got more expensive.
Another lesson for this incompetent front office….”Waiting is losing”.

If the Cowboys had moved earlier on signing Parsons, they would have been able to sign him for less. Why this FO drags its feet then whines about star players costs and the cap is just a bad joke.
