If the nitwit that owns the Browns is smart enough to acquiesce to his star player, Jerry Jones has to have the sense to get a deal done with Micah, now.

I am going to go by what players and agents use especially with QBs. Also by what affects the cap. The NFL does not go "well his salary for this year is not guaranteed so the cap hit on it does not exist". Allen, Lamar, Burrow and Mahomes will see every cent of their deal because of how good they are. Mahomes effectively signed a $450 million fully guaranteed deal because there is no universe in which he does not get every cent of it.

It really is silly though that you want to focus on the salary cap aspect of it and then change your mind to only care about the part of it that is not really relevant to the salary cap. If salary cap is what you are thinking about AAV is what you look at broadly, and yearly cap hits are what you are look at specifically.

You’re not getting Micah for less than market. So why let other people set the market that you say you’re not going to set, only to then set the market anyways.
