Why? He's not going to beat out Colombo. Why bring in a 29 year old backup?

I'd rather draft and try to develop a guy for the future.

Of course, we'll likely screw that up and draft another Marten/Free.

So....

Just asking/providing my opinion.

I could never harm a former fellow fan of Boley.

Tebow = God.

That's pretty much been accepted as fact by most reliable sources.

So wait.....

Are you implying that a 29 year old player is "old"? He turned 29 ten days ago. That means 11 days ago, he was 28 years old.

Christ, this is getting ridiculous. Seems like you people want 24 year Pro Bowlers at every position with 18 year olds backing them up.

He's younger than Motrae Holland who we picked up last year. He's younger than Tony Romo, and I would laugh if you told me he was old. He's still on the up-start part of his career. And OL play A LONG TIME.

Just to be clear: I don't really have opinion on the guy one way or the other about whether he would be a good player or what.

I was just responding because I am getting fed up with this bull**** about age that gets thrown around here as if we are an old team. This guy, if he is any good, could play at least 6 more years. SHUT UP ABOUT AGE unless we are talking about bring back Vinny.

Well, they say an offensive tackle is in the prime of his career from 28-32 so he would be really good depth. Remember it's not like he's a slag and isn't worthy of starting a few games if need be and Joe Thomas isn't losing time to anyone.

I'd like to develop someone at tackle also but good luck if he isn't at least a 2nd rounder and up. These guys don't fall for no reason if they have what it takes to play. For them to show up in the 2nd when they're talented something has to be wrong with their head. Like Andre Smith. So going vet backup may not be a bad idea.

Right. I want to bring in a 29 year old backup Tackle to back up Colombo, who is 30. That way when Colombo is done, we have a groomed replacement who is young.....err..... the same age.

I want to develop some OL.

Not sign a backup who can stay in Dallas for a couple of years, then we move on again, trying to find another backup OT.... rather than attempting to groom one so we have options a couple years down the road.

What are the Browns doing? Trying to be the next 0-16 team?

idk, I think they think he's out of position at RT

he played RT for the Falcons, but Vick was left-handed, I think he's a more natural LT, but of course they already have Joe Thomas there

I was talking about drafting someone and developing...

But hey - keep missing the point. That's ok.

Ah. Tebow. Little over a year until the glory days of Dallas are restored.

What's more perfect than Tebow wearing the star on his helmet? I have the answer. Tebow wearing the star on the helmet as he accepts the Super Bowl MVP award that year.
