Brown's QB looked tentative, indecisive and inaccurate in offseason practices Tuesday

I don't care who the Browns start as long as they finish dead last :)

:hammer:

That is the bottom line from the cowboys perspective.

Ironic i was just thinking of that, when i saw your posts

Is Savage the GM of the Browns?

Romeo Crennel and him are so gone if they don't manage to win this year; they will need at least as many games won last year...but they will have to do it with Quinn at the helm. At least that will buy them half of next season to prove themselves.

Maybe it's me, but I really hate the idea of having the #1 pick and the 'boys paying $60m to an untested rookie. No matter the position.

Good point WG, but trade is also a possibility although i'm not sure there will be a lot of teams willing to pay the price to move up to the #1 spot.

i don't care what he is in 3 years as long as he is 0-16 this year.

As long as it isnt a QB or a WR then im fine with it. Something like 80% of the players in the HOF from the modern era were top 10 picks.

True greatness is found in the top 10.

It's not the selection that's the problem. It's the money.

I understand the draft structure and the CBA and why contracts are set up that way, but that's alot of money for somebody who hasn't done a thing in the NFL.

(On why Brady Quinn can be successful in the NFL): "I always find it humorous when people talk about quarterbacks being system quarterbacks. Good quarterbacks thrive in any system.

Charlie, Troy Aikman just called after watching his Oklahoma tapes. Steve Young also rang from Tampa. Kurt Warner wanted to give you a call but Brenda wouldn't let him. I'm pretty sure that Brett Favre and Daunte Culpepper might tell you that being in the right system had an impact on their careers.

We don't have to draft number one but think how much we could get for it.

Gimme Mcfadden as low as he will go.

Of course we already know that Jerry and Stephen are foaming at the mouth for McFadden.

I think the "bundle" talk was about next year, not this year. I think we're getting McFadden at all costs if he remains healthy. When you go back and read the transcript it all makes sense. "Next year's picks are where the real value is."

What is more, if the Cowboys had taken Quinn and not the Brown's trade, Spencer would not be in Dallas because there would have been no early second-rounder to trade to the Eagles for the chance to go back into the first round to get him. Spencer would probably be a Patriot now.

And there would be no Brown's first-rounder for next year in Dallas' pocket.

:)

Thats what I was thinking and the fact that Hasselback sprained his MCL should be taken into considertation. The voting should end at the end of the season , not so prematurely.

Dont get me wrong , I like Romo's escapabilty in the pocket.. but he is a concussion/fumble waiting to happen when he starts moving in the pocket.

Unfortunately, its seems like that is when he is at his best.

I agree that the pro-bowl voting should not end until the completion of the season. Even by those standards Romo probably still would have made the NFC squad.

Hasselback was not having a great season before his injury. He was just so-so. McNabb maybe, but the Eagles rallied after he got injured and Andy Reid changed the play calling on offense. With a healthy McNabb, maybe Reid continues to ignore the running game. Romo made the pro-bowl because he deserved it this year. Maybe if Parcells starts him from the beginning of the year, his stats are even better and Dallas may have another win or two.

Quinn will be a legit pro bowler in 3 years, not an alternate due to injury

In three years, our draft choice we got for Quinn will have more Pro Bowls than Quinn. :D

The question that needs to be asked is how often are top 10 picks moved? Very rare, I'd say. Every year a top team gets bashed because they couldn't move the pick. If there's a QB involved, then it's likely, but it's not like something teams can do on a regular basis.

Exactly. If that's #3 or #5 or #8, the lower the better so that it costs less. :)

Like WG is saying, #1 overall is so expensive, it can wreck your cap if that player busts.
