Bruce Arians on their new acquisition Cory White--

"We'll make sure Cory has a suit and tie for our road trips."

So Cory is willing to wear a suit now, but he wasn't in Dallas ? Does he own a suit or is Arians going down to Al's Formal Wear for rental? These are the questions that need to be answered.

Yeah, they/we all understand 1 winning season in 5 years. If it were 3 out of the last 5 the HC would catch a break.

No losing seasons in 5 years. Unless, of course we don't win out this year. :)

I don't really care that the HC doesn't catch a break. It's inevitable that it lands on the coach when the team massively underperforms and it's not because the starting QB is playing poorly. That's just how it works. But just because it happens, it doesn't mean it's the coaching that's actually the problem.

My feeling is that White didn't just get cut because he didn't wear a suit. There was likely some other reasons for it. I find it preposterous that any team, particularly the Cowboys...would cut a player based solely on not wearing a suit. Makes for a good story though.

Truth. Like Jimmy Johnson said when he cut John Roper for falling asleep in a ST meeting, "well, If Troy Aikman fell asleep in a meeting I'd give him a nudge and say - Wake up Troy". If White was good, he'd still be here.

Lol at injuries was the only problem, guess u forgot the team wasnt looking so good when Romo was playing

The team was 2-0 while not looking good, without Hardy, McClain, Dez for part of the time, and Romo for the end of the PHI game. I think it's safe to assume that if that trend had continued, nobody would be complaining about the coaching.

LOL that's funny.

Arians is not a politician. He tells his players how it is. He's cut players on the spot, practically in front of the whole team to establish it is his team and what he expects. This is a crack on the culture in Dallas, which basically means there is confusion on authority.

I do not necessarily get with the idea that White was canned because of the suit thing, but it is odd that he basically thinks so.

That's a good point there, maybe Cory is in denial about how much he sucks or is a bubble player and he truly believes the only reason he got cut is because of the suit. He may be over valuing his talent. He's cut cuz he sucks and he didn't wear a suit.

He was cut because he was viewed as not talented enough to stay on the team.

The rest of it was window dressing.

If Fredbeard , Zach or the rook Byron did not wear a suit to two road games, he might get fined by the team or punished some how but he would not be cut. They have enough talent that they would not be cut for not wearing a suit...of course at the same time they are probably also smart enough not to do something that stupid but at the end of the day this was about not being talented enough to overlook whatever problems he presented.

Cutting a couple expendable scrubs was likely a shot across the bow (wake up call) for certain others. Doubt it accomplished much.

If we don't like having shots taken, we should try not to be such an easy target...

OP should work for ESPN with this thread title

Ha! Not a bad idea. But being a writer and IF I was writing for ESPN it would've been something like this--

"Unlike Cowboys - Arians says Cory White Well Suited To Play For Cards"

Nobody takes cheap shots better than ESPN and Florio with NBC's Pro Football Talk.

The thread title is taken directly from the article.

dare I ask, are we a bigger joke than the Browns or Jaguars?

Definitely not the Browns, they're in a league of their own. Probably not the Jags either, but they seem to be an improving young team (albeit in an awful division)

So, yet another who aims to gain notoriety by bad mouthing a static target of media invention...woo hoo.

The current Cowboys do not have a functional identity that works at present. Well, all teams that succeed pass through these times as well. Go Cowboys!
