Emmitt still went mid-1st round...
that's great but they still said he would never amount to anything because he was too small and not fast enough and more crap like that.

I never said anything of the sort

and why do you have all these half-naked men readily available to post?

Rampage has a very solid point. Don't write off a guy just because he isn't ranked very high. With your logic..Barber sucks because he had a 3rd-4th round grade..Scandrick isn't good because he had a 4th-5th round grade so he can't be that good huh? Ratliff sucks balls because he was an UFA and picked in the 7th..he must REALLY suck..

I could keep going and going..but your "He can't be that good because he isn't ranked that high" is a bit flawed. Chung is rated higher on your God..I mean NDS website and he's still graded in the 2nd round..so he sucks balls and won't amount to anything too with your logic..

That's predicting careers!! You might as well call him garbage and there's no way he can play.

Just so we're clear, this whole thread is talking about pre-draft rankings, and yes, a part of ranking a player is taking their physical attributes into account

I've stressed many times before that I don't evaluate players until they've had at least 3 years to show something (unless there are extinuating circumstances such as said player being buried on the bench for 3 years)

I think Delmas will be a solid player, I just don't get the hubbub over him, and I don't see him as a good fit in Dallas

Look at where the 2nd round safeties go. They go before 51, and several have not panned out. Some are still unknown. Teams are getting their safeties in the first round. In 2005, Nick Collins went to the Packers at 51 after two guys went ahead of him. Collins was from Bethune-Cookman, so he fell and ended up being the best.

Delmas, on the other hand, is rated # 1, and he is rated as a mid-second rounder by several draft experts. He should go in the range that some of these other safeties have gone if he's really good.

I'm just saying if he's there at 51, that should be a red flag based on past (recent) drafts. Delmas is rated #1, so he should be gone by the time the 40s end in round 2. If Delmas is allowed to fall to 51 and will be the first safety off the board at that point, you better think twice before you roll the dice. You better hope he's Nick Collins. Two guys went ahead of Collins. He wasn't the number one guy. My math tells me that's a 20% chance of success. 80%-20% odds in favor of a bust.

51. Nick Collins Pro Bowler
55. Bryan Scott
56. Madiew Williams
58. Mike Doss
59. Sean Jones

Dallas my be wise to trade down if an offensive linemen or NT or pass rusher isn't left on their board at 51.

Delmas may go before 51, because of the weak safety class. Kiper and Bunting say he's going around 51. In a weak safety class, he should be gone by 51, especially when he's the #1 guy. If he isn't gone by 51, buyer beware. There has to be some reasons. Recent history says he should be gone. We shall see.
