Not sure if this has been posted already, but the doom and gloomers won't like this OTA report. It is overly glowing, and even suggests that Mo Claiborne will be the best DB back there.

What else would you expect from BTB? They occasionally put out informative content, but otherwise it's Sunshine Central; enough to make Mickey cringe.

Well, can you help me understand just how bad you think we are?

I'm sure you understand that we were one bad fumble and a questionable call away from the NFC championship the year before.

That means not good enough.

Sad to say, but not good enough. Could not pressure a gimpy Rodgers. Nor do the things that win championships, like recover that fumble.

So a reasonable person would have to conclude we were in contention for the super bowl. Then the next year we lost three starters including our QB. We became a 4-12 team. We were 3-1 with our starting QB. That's not bad. Draw what conclusions you like. We are a contender and stacked on offense. Very few teams, if any, are stacked on both sides of the ball.

The injuries were severe, but the rest of the team finishing what they did confirmed for me hat this team is stuck at average.

If you think the talent makes it otherwise, you better start looking at the coaching for an explanation..

Maybe it's the negativity of the fans that has affected this front office rather then the denial. Negativity, or whatever clever euphemism you have for it can permeate a team and front office.

I think they're an average team in a bad league. Good enough to compete for a playoff spot with some good luck and a top 10 pick in the draft with some bad luck. That's what I think.

Never in the history of the league has a Super Bowl contender turned into a top pick of the draft contender in a similar scenario. It's never happened.

I think the expiration date should be checked on that. Romo is now 36 years old with a body collecting social security. We can't just assume he's going to be a top shelf starter if he can stay on the field. We may see a guy in clear decline.

Yes, they were. They were an old team with no defense. They were in rapid decline and that's why Manning and the Colts decided to part ways at that time. Their own front office was telling you they needed to rebuild.
