what a joke this whole situation is because Jason Garett didn't know what he was doing last year and Romo who rarely threw Roy the ball. When Joey Harrington was throwing him the ball people thought he was a good wr. But because Garrett wouldn't design any plays for him and because Romo only threw him a pass or 2 per game all of a sudden people think Roy can't play wr anymore. now Roy catches all this heat for the "red headed genius" not knowing how to run an offense with a probowler at every position and because Romo was too busy running for his life(thanks garrett/o-line) and throwing to Witten and cancer. But all you hear is Roy can't run good routes....

Seriously... People act as if the WR is the only person in control when it comes to catching the ball... While we don't agree on TO, at least we agree on the fact that the "Red Genius" couldn't call a game that could win 4 games in a 12 game season of Pee-Wee league...

Dallas was predicted to go to the Super Bowl last year because they had a ton of weapons for this offense.. As if things changed this year from last year... The onus is on Garrett to utilize the weapons, which he not only had this year, but last year as well...

Roy Williams better not be a scape-goat for Garrett this year...

Williams does however tower over his peers when it comes to his exceptional leaping ability and body control. Williams also possesses good strength, and is one of the best in the league at high-pointing the football. Cowboys fans should not be expecting to see a lot of the 60 and 70-yard touchdowns that we saw from Owens. What can be expected is a lot more catches in traffic, a lot of first downs, and a ton of jump balls in the corner of the end zone. With Roy Williams, the Cowboys have a touchdown anytime they want one inside the 10-yard line.

Moving the chains, keeping the drive alive, eating up the clock, and winning the time of possession battle. Which in turn keeps our defense fresh.

I feel your fear bro but this year the ball will be spread around more. My biggest concern is can our O-line stay intact..

If we take out Roy's 2008 stats, then we have to take out his one good year he has had in his career - 2006.

Roy averages 780.6 yards per season, 54 catches per season with 7 TDs, looks pretty damn crappy to me for a friggin #1. If the average top receiver does 74 catches for 999 yds we are pretty much in last place with Roy as our number one based on his career statistics.

Detroit is such a pass happy offense and they were always behind - Detriot's #1 receiver should have put up HUGE numbers. I personally think Roy is a loafer. HE appears to not run hard if he doesn't think the ball is coming his way (proof on tape), and he was never accused of running good routes or putting in extra reps or even having good hands.
If your going to do that then also see what his game average is and compare that to other wrs.

Williams has yet to learn how to use his physical gifts correctly, nor does he play with the level of urgency and determination Irvin did. Williams' failures last year were not about not learning the playbook. There was the injury and from what I saw, his general outlook. He's not the most determined WR ever. Half the time he looked completely uninterested.

lol i hope you dont start to ride his nuts, after he makes a huge impact

Owens fan's bitterness is hilarious.

You feel safe going into a big game with Roy Williams being your best reciever? What is Roy going to do when cbs start getting physical with him during run plays? Playing reciever isn't just about being 6'3 and having a little bit of speed. Roy Williams is the Pau Gasol of the NFL. I despise soft athletes and Roy is exactly that. Doesnt have anything to do with TO when it comes to Roy. If Dallas got Fitzgerald or Steve Smith or any real #1 reciever i wouldn't care. Roy Williams is going to get his heart taken from him during the games against the Eagles and Giants. What will Roy do when Laron Landry comes aiming for his throat? I guarantee you he wont be a "go getter" then.

Everybody stop picking on me! Im a first round pick and i was Detroits best reciever until they found a real one to replace me.waaaaaaaaah

He couldn't make an impact against team's 2nd best corner last year... What makes you think he will now that he's going to see our opponents best DB each week?

He saw man coverage almost every single play last year... 10 games 20 catches 200 yards 1 TD.

I'd much rather have a WR who can get open versus the one who can "fight for the ball".

Give me a physical receiver ala Irvin who would use his big body to get open. He wouldn't go up and fight for it, he'd win the fight to begin with by using his body positioning to shield defenders out.

Go away

Always find it interesting how people can tell when someone is uninterested. What look is that exactly? What's more interesting is how we feel we can come away with this feeling from a guy wearing a helmit.

Yes, I do.

I don't know but I bet he won't disappear like Owens did last year.

You're right, it's also about not dropping balls.

Owens is the Alex Rodriguez who looks good, has mega talent, but will never win anything because he thinks he is bigger than the team and the game itself.

If you say so.

Suuuuuuuuuuuure it doesn't.

You know what the difference is between the Buffalo Bills and a dollar? You can still get 4 quarters out of a dollar.

Okay Miss Cleo.

I don't have a crystal ball like you.

That and 75 cents will buy me a soda pop. In other words, this was worthless.

Roy Williams vs. NFC East Teams 2004-2007

2004 (His ROOKIE Season)
vs Phil 9 catches, 135 yards, 2 TD's
vs NYG 4 catches, 67 yards, 1 TD
vs Was 3 catches, 33 yards

2007
vs Phil 9 catches, 204 yards, 1 TD
vs NYG 6 catches, 106 yards
vs Was 3 catches, 36 yards

Yeah, he really couldn't handle playing against the NFC East when he was a) he was the No. 1 WR for Detroit and b) wasn't the 4th option (like he almost seemed to be when he came to Dallas. I mean, the skins were the only squad to slow him down.

As I noted before. Roy Williams is a clone of Plaxico Burress (on the field anyway)

I'll ask again...

If Roy Williams struggled with team's 2nd best DB and man to man coverage last year... How in the hell is he going to flourish against every team's best corner next year?

Look, I'm glad T.O. was on this team for three years, but it's time to move on and try something new. I mean, what exactly did this team win with him? Maybe RW isn't as explosive as TO, but i do know one thing - on 3rd & 5, I know that RW will definitely catch the ball much more consistently than TO. That's all I want from RW and this team - CONSISTENCY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Explosiveness don't mean crap if you drop the ball 1/3 of the time.

The only thing Roy Williams has done consistently since he came to Dallas is make excuses.
