Train wreck? Do you even KNOW what happened in Philadelphia? Compared to ONE UNCONFIRMED STORY here? I am going to guess you have no idea. The guy basically said he wished he'd never signed with Philly, got in a locker room fight with Hugh Douglas, trashed his QB, trashed the Eagles organization, got suspended for four games and then deactivated for the rest of the season. That resembles NOTHING here.

You might get the chance to be proven wrong. After Philadelphia, yes. Now? No.

And I still can't believe I am defending the guy who grandstanded on our star. But facts is facts, the uy is a Hall of Fame receiver who despite having a nobody at QB a quarter of the season put up numbers at the top of the league. And whose sole sin is an unconfirmed report he is upset about pass distribution and his QBs passing choices.

Unbelievable. You know, the problem is this team has sucked *** and done nothing for a decade, the fans are sick of it and have their rifles loaded for bear. Except they can't shoot the GM, who is standing in front of the coach, but we sure as hell are gonna shoot SOMEONE... hey, let's shoot TO.

That wasn't Terrell Owens throwing an assitant head coach under the bus on national television (Deion Sanders interview) and at press conferences after games this year. That wasn't Terrell Owens throwing Tony Romo under the bus this season with his "I don't throw the ball" post-game interview comments. That wasn't Terrell Owens wanting to fight Jason Witten when Witten dared to question him about a lazy route after the Pittsburgh game. Nothing reported by the media is true. "It's all a conspiracy". "There are no moles" in the locker room.

Fire is every where, but go right ahead, ignore it. iOwens is on the verge of getting booted right out of Dallas. Stephen Jones isn't an idiot, and he will not let it get to "situps in the driveway" status.

"I need more opportunities".

No, iOwens. You had it thrown to you 18 times. I didn't hear Barber or Felix Jones complaining about opportunites after that game, and they had the right to be angry. The Bengals receivers couldn't believe he got that many opportunities. How about getting off press coverage?

Owens played three games with Brad Johnson, not 4.

5-11 sucks

9-7
9-7
13-3
9-7

Doesn't suck.

Owens' 65.8 yards per game sure is something. No wonder he threw Jason Garrett overboard. He sure is big on stats. He has to blame someone. That's his very distinguished track record. You make it sound like he had a monster year. He had a great year in 2007, not 2008.

It's a good thing he had the 49ers game to pad that 65 YPG.

Umm.

He's an authority figure and assistant head coach; that's who.

Terrell Owens gets to do or say anything he wants to do or say, and there are no consequences for his eratic/ect... behavior.

Garrett sees that this guy is a cancer, and he is willing to challenge Jerry about his favorite "pet".

Authority Figure?! :lmao2:

Do you really believe that?

I'll tell you who he is...........he's an EXPOSED, overpaid, OC!

Even Romo said they were EXPOSED, maybe you want to get rid of him too.

Just in case you didn't know, Hugh Douglas started the fight. He wasn't even a member of the team anymore (was only allowed to hang around the players as a "team ambassador) and stormed into one of the rooms in the Eagles facility, where Owens was in the whirlpool, and accused him of "faking injuries." Owens essentially got up to confront him, and Douglas took a swing at him. Owens swung back and they were quickly restrained.

The bottom line: It was self-defense on T.O.'s part, but few people paid any attention to the facts that were reported about that incident.

*snicker* Spare us the hyperbolic bluster bordering on the hysterical - it's clear that when it comes to Owens, your mind is concrete - mixed up, and permanently set. Could you be more melodramatic? Don't answer.
That wasn't Terrell Owens wanting to fight Jason Witten when Witten dared to question him about a lazy route after the Pittsburgh game.
Funny how Witten chiding Owens isn't pushing him "under the bus"...

Owen's 65 yards per game sure is something.
Better than Randy Moss, Santana Moss, Mushin Muhammad, T.J. Houshmandzadeh - or do these guys all suck too?
No wonder he threw Jason Garrett overboard.
Oh do quit being a drama queen.
He sure is big on stats. He has to blame someone. That's his very distinguished track record. You make it sound like he had a monster year. He had a great year in 2007, not 2008.
Who had a higher YPC average this year? Larry Fitzgerald or TO? Who caught more TDs, TO or Steve Smith? The guy had 10TDs, 1000 yards on only 69 catches. That's a good year receiving, in any league. And when you are the only real WR threat, it's even better.

We get it - you don't like TO. You think he is a distraction. Fine. But go sell "TO isn't that good" somewhere else.

It's a good thing he had the 49ers game to pad that 65 YPG.
Yeah, because that game shouldn't count... but the St. Louis game should. Because, well, it helps your heretical frenzy...

Like I said. Concrete.

Great work by Vela as usual.

I trust Garrett a lot, and this story has some bones. Aikman, Moose, and Darren Woodson endorsed him very heavily. He has been apart of championships, he knows the difference between a Michael Irvin and a Terrell Owens.

I'm just also very worried that Roy E was an all-Jerry move, and hearing Aikman's constant criticism of not just his route running - but work ethic, football IQ, etc.

And everyone is so ready to go into next season with Roy Williams that averaged 19 yards a game over 10 games, a very raw Miles Austin, Patrick Crayton, and Sam Hurd as your receiving core.

Looks like a damned if you do, damned if you don't situation to me.

The only problem I had with the article is that he is saying all of those only won a small amount of SB trophies. And that is true.

Although when comparing someone that is in it (teams under those guys) vs the cowboys over the last few years he fails to mention that although they only won a few superbowls, they did win quite a few playoff games...something we have not been able to do.

Sure the ultimate goal is the Superbowl, but you got to win some playoff games before you can get there and we can not even win one.

So it would seem to me they have done a better job even if they have only won a few superbowls.

What seems to be conveniently ignored in this article by some of the anti-Jones responders is that Vela is strongly supporting Jerry Jones as being a highly competent GM.

Amazing that you don't acknowledge that.

Then Vela would be wrong about that.

I have never heard of an OC telling the owner that its either him or a player, especially when that OC is the highest paid assistant coach in the NFL and makes more than alot of HCs do.

On one hand I like that the OC is showing some balls and standing his ground and on the other hand I am thinking he should shut the hell up and do what he is told for $3mill a year.

I am conflicted.

Jason Garrett, the MORON who when we had a healthy Felix Jones (averaging NINE YARDS PER CARRY) and played our biggest division rival chose to not let Felix touch the ball one time.

Sorry but this guy is in no position to hand out any sort of ultimatum. What he should be doing is learning how to design an offensive gameplan.

This is something of a special case for a few reasons. The player and the OC have a poor working relationship; the team has a discipline problem; it is widely accepted that the HC is not capable of solving the discipline; the owner/GM has mandated continuity in his coaching staff. Which means that any added discipline on the offensive side, by default, falls to the OC. Wade knows it, Red knows it, Jerry knows it, Stephen Jones knows it.

Just not in the Politics Zone... :D

WAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

I ditched Usenet a month or two ago. It just got intolerable, 90% crap, 10% topical. The final straw was two newsgroup turds in particular starting political, cross-posted threads that flooded the newsgroup with responses from people nobody wanted to talk to on topics nobody wanted to talk about.

Not probably gonna even visit the politics zone... Obama hasn't even taken office, and for too many he's either our deliverer from evil, or the deliverer of evil. Guy hasn't taken the oath, and people love him or hate him. What the ***!!! Far too few reasonable discussions on that politics to be found.

Hmmmmm... now I have to figure out which refugee from alt...cowboys you are. The obvious guess from the name is... Bear? Is that you you old salty sumbich?? If so, you gotta let me know...

1) Who else from the newsgroups is here
2) Wade - go or stay?
3) Jones - the problem or just the scenery?
4) TO - go or stay?

Just gotta see where we stand here! Feel free to take that last part to PM if ya want, don't want to whip everyone with backslapping hee-haws...

The guy who turned down two HC job offers last year and made several short lists this year?

Whatever you think of his performance this year, its obvious he is still highly regarded around the league. There is no question that if he decides he really doesn't want to put up with another year of TO and walks he will probably have a job in some capacity with another team before getting out of the Valley Ranch parking lot.

If I were him I would do the same - putting up with TO did nothing for Garrett's career this year, why get pulled through the mud again next year?

No, it isn't.

It's the opposite in fact.

If Garrett doens't get his way he'll run away?

Doesn't scream 'leader' to me.

More like 'coward'.

But since you're on an anti-Owens agenda, you'll see things they way you want to.
