I just wonder what gives any one confidence that cassel can win 5 games when he hasn't even won one yet this team hasn't won a game without romo they ran for 11 yards against the panthers and the Commanders have only lost one game at home personally I have no faith or trust in the players or coaches but I still hope they can win.

With Cassel, do they have a shot at winning it all? The answer is no.

Division titles don't do much for me. I'd rather go 3-13 and try to get the QB that will get us that 6th ring. But that's me. One more loss and they need to shut it down.

You should become a Browns fan. This is what they have been doing for the past 20 years. I think you would enjoy it.

Nope. They have almost zero chance of winning it all with Matt Cassel.

Division titles don't do it for me, either. But I prefer them to the alternative. Losing out to get a higher draft pick is what really doesn't do it for me. Teams get better by winning games, not by picking higher. And picking higher isn't necessarily a predictor of getting better players, anyway. You have to find the guys who fit your system, and then you have to develop them. Both of which are more important than picking a few spots higher in each round.

Does it really matter? Dallas has no shot at the big prize regardless of what happens sunday.

Personally I don't watch a game based on whether or not my team has a shot at the big prize, but hey good luck with that.

I want the first pick in the draft but i can't ever root against my team ever on a Sunday or not hope for the next game come the playoffs. ..if we make it. ..for a higher pick. I'm under a delusion caused by Roger and Tony that we are never really out of it....having said that, if we lose out and JG is fired...it would be a happy February.

If Philly and the Giants lose Sunday...Monday night's game is going to be a game we can all just pour beer down our throats either in jubilation or humiliation depending on the outcome.

Either way...buckle up and enjoy the ride.

Ima start the beer thing right now.

Pretty sure securing your franchise QB for the next 15 years may be just a bit more conducive to winning long term then a few meaningless victories in a lost season... But HEY, THATS JUST ME

We've suffered enough this year, the ONLY thing that will make it somewhat bearable now is a high draft pick. would you really feel good about winning an all time trash division with 6 or so wins only to be embarrassed in the wildcard round? How is that better than potentially locking up your next franchise QB for the next 15 years?? The answer is its not, I don't want to hear any of this nonsense of posters questioning other posters fandom for wanting to tank. The posters who want to tank want what's best for this franchise MOVING FORWARD, which is what we should all want.

Yep... Not cheering for the Commanders to win.. Just the Cowboys to lose.

bingo! But now I am thinking we'll have these types of posts until the playoffs begin. Until we're out of it mathematically, we'll have posts about how it can happen...then when we get eliminated, there will be hope because maybe the other 3 teams will all get a severe breakout of the measles in their respective locker rooms and in an unprecedented move, the commish says the NFC East must be represented and he announces that Dallas gets into the playoffs.

I mean, after all, you never know right? I mean, it could happen, right?

Matt looked great when he came in the game.

If the offense and defense can get on the same page...we can win this dumpster fire of a division.

It was 30-6 and the Panthers were texting dinner reservations.

Cassel will stink against Washington.

Oh, that's not just you. A lot of people feel that way.

And I want to secure my franchise QB, too. I'd just prefer to do it by putting a good team around him at all the other position groups, and then drafting my guy at a place where's he a legitimate BPA candidate and then carefully developing him over time in a stable organization that does things the right way.

That's much more likely to be successful than tanking a season and then reaching for a guy high with the precious extra draft spots who you then feel pressured to play in a market where the press is largely negative and the fans have the patience of preschoolers and will turn on the players and the organization at the drop of the hat because (most indignant voice possible), "We're the Dallas Cowboys." When does that ever work? It's hard enough playing QB in the NFL as it is.

You can thank Romo for that deficit...not our defense...they actually played great.

Not relevant to our discussion but that makes Romo costing 1 loss and the defense about 5 blown games.

I'm sorry, but I don't see a non-Romo group as able to overcome a need for speed in closing...with slicked up cement. As the team is about to enter black n' blue time, they are employing a rope-a-dope.
