I think 4 is between these 2 and Buckner will be the pick. His measurables compare to Watt (more than Bosa) and the first team he met with was Dallas. Dont be shocked people!

On what planet does his measurables matchup to Watt?

his shuttle is .3 less. His 3 cone is half a second slower. His 10 yard is atrocious.

Buckner is not athletic even considering his 290 lbs.

Hand size, arm length, vertically.

Any draft that doesn't put Elliott on this team is a big fat fail.

I dont want either guy but we arent going into week 1 with the current starting d line.

Buckner is a 3-4 DE,there is zero chance we even consider him at 4.

While I would agree that is where he would be best, that doesn't mean he can't be a 4-3 LDE. Jacksonville used former Miami DT Jared Odrick at LDE, mainly because Gus Bradley used Red Bryant at LDE in Seattle before they got Michael Bennett. This style of defense will usually use a DE at OLB almost resembling a 3-4. Baltimore ran a similar system in 2000 with a larger LDE (Rob Burnett is listed at 265, but I *think* he was closer to 280) and a DE playing OLB in Peter Boulware.

to me Buckner VS Bosa is a non contest a a 4-3 DE.

I'd like Buckner if it meant moving Gregory to OLB. I'd really like a front 7 that looked like this

RDE- DLawrence
DT- TCrawford
DT- CThorton
LDE- DBuckner
WLB- SLee
ILB- RMcClain
SLB- RGregory (obviously suspended first 4)

I think Buckner could be the pick at 4, if Ramsey, Wentz, and Bosa are gone, but there is no way R. Gregory is moving to SLB. In a 4-3 those are very different positions.

Why do people always try to change player's positions when projecting? There is simply no way Gregory will be moved to play LB in a marianelli 4-3.

Marianelli may not, but Mathias Kiwanuka (DE from boston college) wasn't the athlete that Gregory is and played 4-3 OLB for the SB champion Giants. Peter Boulware (DE from Florida State) played 4-3 OLB for the super bowl champion Ravens. Bruce Irvin (DE from West Virginia) played 4-3 OLB for the SB champion Seattle Seahawks. And fwiw, scheme wise we're not night and day different from Seattle (personel wise we are and results wise we are), so just once I'd love for someone to tell me why Greggory can't play OLB in a 4-3, instead of assuming I don't know the difference between a 3-4 and a 4-3. If your reason is, we can't trust the pot head, sure, but I would say that physcically there's no reason he can't.

Even Vic Beasley (DE from Clemson) is currently playing LB for Atlanta

If Dallas ran a 3-4 he would be up near the top of the draft board. I don't doubt the talent, just not so sure about the scheme fit.

Even then I don't think he would be considered at #4 because he would be a 3-4 DE who generally aren't asked to do anything but occupy blockers, with Watt being the obvious exception.
