exactly, 1 of many. This Bucs game ABSOLUTELY is a defining game.
The flip side is they reap the benefits of playing for this team. That "reputation" was built on all that came before them. Their job is to build upon that legacy. To protect the legacy, not contribute to its further decline. Fair or not, that is the burden of inheriting from those who came before you. Some of you must enjoy pouring urine in your cereal. I understand lamenting not winning a SB since the 90s. But this team is only responsible for THIS YEAR. Nothing else.
The playoffs are different animal than the regular season. Regular season records go out the window. The intensity level is much higher for a playoff game and home-field is a clear advantage unless you’re the Cowboys. Brady’s playoff record is 35-12 compared to 1-3 for Dak who’s struggling entering the playoffs. It’s been a while since he’s beaten a truly great QB and is just coming off losing to a rookie QB that was making their first start. The Cowboys aren’t playing near well enough to beat anyone badly. They haven’t beaten anyone by more than six points in the last five games. Some of you are having a tough time grasping that this is not the same Cowboys team we saw earlier in the season that was playing consistent football and was winning games with a great defense that wasn’t giving up more than 20 points per game.If the team is to be something other than the past 27 years, this game is not the “defining” anything. The Bucs are not that good of a team (whether or not Brady is there). The divisional and conference championship games and then the Super Bowl would need to define this squad if they want to be “different.”
San Francisco just finished demolishing the Bucs with the rookie “Mr. Irrelevant.” The Cowboys “should” beat the Bucs badly to move on to better competition. This is the weakest the NFC has looked for 27 years. Just sayin’
I’m hoping this is the year they give you something back. You’ve earned it.Not to mention that it'd be our first road playoff win in 30 years. So yes, it's a big deal if we win because we would have gotten that proverbial monkey off our backs.
I agree but unfortunately they probably have a better chance of giving him the clap instead of a LombardiI’m hoping this is the year they give you something back. You’ve earned it.

My point was not what I think will happen. My point was-if the team is a true contender they make the final four of the postseason. That would make this club’s definition different than the past 27 year history. Don’t do that and that means no different than past teams in that time period (which makes this game a potential prelude to being defined “differently”).The playoffs are different animal than the regular season. I don’t think this team is a true contender. Their record says they are, but they’ve fallen off the past month. Dak has become very inconsistent and turnover prone. My point was not what I think will happen. My point was-if the team is a true contender they make the final four of the postseason. I never said they were. I was mainly responding to the ridiculous threads building this game up to be way bigger than it is.I don’t think this team is a true contender. Their record says they are, but they’ve fallen off the past month. Dak has become very inconsistent and turnover prone.

Our defense has no chance of doing to Brady what the 9ers did. That’s the difference. If the team is to be something other than the past 27 years, this game is not the “defining” anything.
