Bucs game not a defining moment

If the team is to be something other than the past 27 years, this game is not the “defining” anything. The Bucs are not that good of a team (whether or not Brady is there). The divisional and conference championship games and then the Super Bowl would need to define this squad if they want to be “different.”

San Francisco just finished demolishing the Bucs with the rookie “Mr. Irrelevant.” The Cowboys “should” beat the Bucs badly to move on to better competition. This is the weakest the NFC has looked for 27 years. Just sayin’
What a whiny post. SMH. You forgot to mention the 49ers are loaded with weapons, veteran players proven in recent playoffs, a very good Oline, excellent receiving weapons, top 3 overall TE, excellent RBs and the #1 overall Defense. That's not including having one of the best coaching staffs in the league. Then you add their easy schedule and super weak division. They SHOULD BE IN THE PLAYOFFS AND DOING WELL since they are one of the top 3 overall loaded and experienced teams. Totally different for the Cowboys. So stop forcing unfair comparison and expectations just because you can't handle your hurt emotions.

Our defense has no chance of doing to Brady what the 9ers did. That’s the difference.
The defense did fantastic vs him and the Bucs the first game. The offense unfortunately looked like they were content punting the entire game.

Prepare for 28 unless a few things fall our way. Beating the Bucs would indeed be good

And this whole Mr irrelevant argument is pointless any qb would excel in that scenario

The nfc is full of flawed teams the niners have the least amount they are pretty complete

Fans that continue live in the past amaze me. Comparing this team to the 70s or 90s and what the cowboys need to live up to is dumb

This cowboys organization has not been relevant in salary cap era in playoffs

They are regular season studs. The defense, run game and passing game all have ? Marks. Coaching has cost us games as well

Me personally I have no expectations and i believe it was a good season already

I hope they make it all the way to SB but not expecting it and I will lose 0 sleep if they lose Monday

This team is inconsistent they can win by 20 or lose by 10

If you are pleased enough to not set a higher standard for excellence then good for you. I doubt anyone on here loses sleep over a sports team they cheer for.

Each of us can set the standard of what we would call a good season-without expecting it to happen. No need to tune in if the team already accomplished what you want- like watching less than preseason games (there’s got to be something far more gratifying for you to do with your Monday night).

I'm angry. This game should be on a Sunday. I'd like to take whomever decided to play playoff games on Monday night and stuff them full of Tuesday Tacos and then have Wednesday (Adams) do her stupid dance on their face...followed by Thursday through Sunday spent in ICU.:confused:

Oh I believe there are plenty that gets upset and loses sleep or they wouldn’t spend thread upon thread complaining bout the team instead of enjoying the ride

I used to be one Jerry got me out of it if he don’t care why should I

Yep you are free to embrace this team however you wish. You are free to put whatever expectations you wish but if you have followed this team all year and followed the rest of the league then you would know this team still isn’t built for a championship

It needs breaks to be successful. But when you’re expectations aren’t met does it make it right for the rest of the board or half of it need to hear the incessant whining that comes with failure.

No it isn’t and it becomes difficult to scroll by when the board is littered with pessimistic whiners. I choose to be more optimistic and let it go quickly when I’m disappointed

Doesn’t mean I’m less of a diehard it means no sports team is worth getting as upset as some do here

Again if Jerry don’t care why should I be over invested

Like my original post. The Bucs were not a good team during the regular season. They were bad tonight and the Cowboys were simply a much better team. The Cowboys get a much better opponent this next week. They must win that game to be “different” than the past 27 year’s teams. This next game (and the one after that and the one after that) can give them some definition. This win feels better than all the other regular season wins because it’s SUPPOSED to.

Good win for this club and now they are on to San Francisco to play for the right to actually be a contender. Cmon Dallas-let’s make it an all NFC East championship game!

The bucs are one of the worst teams to ever make the playoffs… Beating them can’t define anything

 if people around here put in as much work being dissatisfied into something productive. . . .
Lol-like there’s tons of production from the Pom Pom crowd. It’s a message forum-it’s just shizz and giggles. It’s the truth anyway. I posted this stuff last week. Real defining moments occur later in the playoffs. This next game separates contenders from pretenders-no sense ignoring the obvious. Win the game vs SF to earn the title of contender.

The Cowboys I grew up loving are not the 21st century Cowboys.

They are what they likely are, pumped up guys incapable of living up to that legacy.

I've adjusted expectations accordingly. Show me you're those Boys. I'll wait.
Tonight was the first step and I'm enjoying it. I'll think about the next step as the week goes on. For now, I'm just enjoying it.

NFC title game or bust. It's been my mantra all season. I will go through x's and o's of SF game in the days ahead.

Winning next week makes this a very good year. Obviously a SB win makes it a great year.

I diagree, winning a road playoff game for the first in 30 years is pretty defining moment for this franchise.

Even if we lose to the 49ers, we still did something that we have not done in a very long time, so no, this season is not like other seasons.

This season is already a success, regardless of what happens next week.

That was a great win. Nice to beat old man Brady. Nice to get a road win. Nice to play well. This next game is a big game. Win this game and you are a true contender. Playing in the NFC championship game would be huge for this franchise.

I enjoyed the game last night of course. I’ve stated that winning the game yesterday puts them into position to make it to a defining game. I might agree with you had they not reached this threshold in the past 27 years, or if the team had a young inexperienced core. They have an older core and this is the best chance this team has ever had to make it to the NFCCG in those 27 years.

Losing this next game would not be rising above those past squads. If the team wants to progress-then they will progress further into the postseason. They cannot continue building toward something on regular season and wildcard wins-eventually they must make it past the threshold and do something tangible to prove they are different.

Gotta love it when after a big win in the playoffs, someone says we stink on ice the morning after.

Tangible results trump imaginary results when team building around an aging core.

But since you are patronizing-tell us dissatisfied people what points we should be making if we are bothering to post anything.
