Burger King on draft *Merge*

IF Dallas ended up with Mendenhall and say a CB like DRC (I don't believe he'll go as high as a lot of people are predicting) I would do cartwheels! I have to agree with King on the MBIII contract situation, he's not worth that type of money.

I think there's a great chance that one of the three top RBs drop. All along, I have assumed that Stewart might be that guy because of his toe. Instead, Stewart really seems to be hot right now. Teams seem to appreciate his toughness, his size, and his ability to break tackles and run inside. So Mendenhall may be the guy that falls...If he does (or Stewart, for that matter), I think Dallas will gladly consider scooping him up.

I like Jonathan Stewart but not much more, if any, over Ray Rice.

If I were Dallas I would trade back and select Rice.

That is one first round mock that I would take! Most of these are just crap and not worth the read, but this one is interesting. The guy might be shot though for not including Felix Jones. I mean Felix is kinda like the new Dexter Coakley...pertained to and maintained in every move the Cowboys are bound to make, past, present and oblivion future.

the Cowboys need to be prepare for the posibility of trading #22 (instead of #28 ) for a #1 next year because if the reports are true that teams from 26 to 31 are looking to move down, then the demand to move up into the late first round is going to deminish.

They can always manuever their way up a few picks from #28 ( if somebody they like falls there ) just like they did last year ( albeit it was from the Brown's pick in the second round ), but if they're going to move either of their #1s for next year's pick, #22 should be easier to move than #28.

I'd certainly be smiling at the end of the first round if it worked that way...

I don't see a snowball's chance in Hades of Mendenhall falling that far, though...and I doubt that Talib makes it to 28; 22 might be possible...

No kidding...Mendenhall could be a great pick but he'll likely be long gone before 22.

22. Dallas. RB Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois. Jerry Jones is dancing in the draft room -- he didn't have to trade into the top of the draft for a back, and he ends up with a guy some in our business think is better and a lower risk than Darren McFadden. One question, though: Why couldn't Mendenhall beat out Pierre Thomas at Illinois two years ago?

I just cannot see Mendenhall falling that far - if he does - YAHOOOOOOO!

I like Mendenhall a lot, but I just can't get excited about spending a 1st on a backup RB, regardless of who it is.

yet you and numerous others do get excited about spending a 1st (and in some cases both firsts) on a 3rd and/or 4th string CB...whats the difference? Its not like the backup RB is gonna play only 5 or 6 snaps a game...most likely it'll be a 60/40 split and maybe even 50/50...at worst you figure MBIII gets 2/3 of the plays, so the backup gets 1/3...and depending on who the backup is you have to add in that they might be returning kickoffs too..at the most assuming nobody gets hurt a 3rd CB is gonna play maybe half the snaps...maybe not even that..a 4th CB might not play at all

Whomever we draft at CB would be our 3rd CB; not 4th. And with Henry getting hurt every year, he'll probably start a couple of games too.

if we dont trade for Pac Trash you are absolutely right

however if we trade for Pac Trash, you are wrong...hence why I said "3rd and/or 4th CB"

course injuries could happen too, but thats at any position...not just CB

Last time I checked, we haven't traded for PacMan.

I'm in favor of taking the best player available at 22/28 or trading down. Now, that player may not be a CB or RB or WR. If that's the case, then I'm for taking the best player. Trying to draft to fit needs is not the best way to go about collecting talent IMO. If the best player is a Tackle, then I'm OK if we draft him. Just get the best players we can and lets work on getting better. JMO
