Burger King- Thinks Cowboys will cut TO

And really when mutiple media outlets are running with the story then that ups the probability there is something there.

Denying it out of hand is just as gullible as swallowing it whole though.

I deny most things as out of hand until I see proof.

The thing I've wondered the past couple of weeks is how many people are going to be vilified in the service of defending Owens. Whether coaches, media, former players, whatever, it seems anyone who thinks Owens should be gone is an utter moron or has an agenda.

It is remarkable.

How stupid do you think I feel!! I was his biggest fan when he got here simply for the fact that I thought "maybe this time he will grow up"?

Guess what? TO has come back home to mama.

I also thought the eagles were going to the SB!

I don't think Garrett would have anything to do with it. Roy Williams doesn't like the guy either, is he getting cut too? I'm sure Crayton doesn't think much of him, either. You can say that those two dislike him because TO turned them against him, but their problem isn't with him as a person, but with him as a coach. And of course, we know who else doesn't think that highly of him anymore -- Tony Romo.

If Jerry picks Garrett over TO, he really is stupid and ruining this team.

So pick a 35, going to be 36 year old receiver whose divisive over a young and promising coach? Pick the player who you admit may have had a role in turning other receivers against the guy calling the plays?

And finally, do you have any idea what kind of message that sends to Owens if you ship out your offensive coordinator because Owens feels he doesn't get the ball enough? Talk about get your popcorn ready.

That would be an unmitigated disaster and ruin any chance of this team getting back on track.

I haven't vilified anyone at the expense of TO besides the media. All I've heard from the media is "anonymous sources" saying this or that, and spewing the same line that TO is a distraction, cancer, and is the primary cause of all the 'Boys problems. Cut him, and everything will be honkey dory. Yeah right.

This team suffered from a lot of issues last year. TO isn't even close to the primary reason.

So he says in latest MMQB.

I believe it to. I think TO has played his last game here.

Excellent player most of the time, has given us some big production. But we will win more without him.

YAY. Another TO here or there thread. Original.

Romo deserved to be yelled at those days, he was awful. Thats one of the things missing here now, is nobody will hold him accountable or yell at him when he screws up

absolutely agree.

that is part of the reason I am not sure I want garret back, I dont know if he can get that out of romo again.

romo had parcells/sporano/haley/Chris palmer and david lee watching over him. All very very good coaches. He was accountable to all of them and they were not at impressed by his celebrity. He was a young player on a short leash.

He needs someone who commands his respect someone he can not throw the polaroids down on the sideline and walk away from.

Mike Holmgren fits that bill to a T. the problem is he is a short term guy and he can never get the defense right.

Every hate thread deserves a little leverage. Oh trust me, I don't plan on wasting my time actually reading the back & forth in it.

With a few exceptions, I think most Cowboys fans wanted to believe Owens would change, would become a more mature player. That's part of being a fan. I certainly hoped for the best. But time wounds all heels.

I can't put on thick enough blinders to ignore the internal strife that appears to have torn apart this team late in the season. And I can't ignore the fact that Owens, with his track record, was in the middle of it.

I also can't assume the kind of attitude that places, at this point, virtually every major football writer and media person in the same basket. They are individuals, some better at their jobs than others.

There is a point in a trial, where witness after witness has given the same testimony, and one must accept the accuracy of their reports. I think we've reached that point. Too many people have to be liars, rumor-mongerers, dolts, and incompetents in order to construct the theory that Owens is merely an innocent bystander.

The more likely scenario: Owens is at the heart of the problem.

is cutting owens going to solve these problems?

1. garretts simple game planning?
2. romo's 29 game streak of having a turnover?
3. garretts love for the pass no matter if the run is working?
4. the OL always being destroyed by a speed rushing team, or a blitzing team?
5a. crayton, roy, austin inability to deal with pressure coverage?
5b. can they handle a double team? NO!
6. the defense being able to get turnovers?
7. the defense being able to get off the field on 3rd down?
8. the safties being able to grasp th concept of a zone coverage?
9. the coaching staff being able to see the secondary doesnt grasp zone coverage?
10. some athletic lb'ers that can do more then just rush the qb?
11. the team getting a NT that will allow ratliff to play a more natural posistion that he isnt wore out by the end of the yr.
12. special teams who can cover a kick/punt?
13. special teams who can get more then 15 yrds on a kick, 5 yrds on a punt?
16. kickoff past the 10 yrd line so teams dont constantly start past the 35?

is cutting owens the cancer going to cure all of that? is owens affecting any of that? because anybody that actually watches the game and doesnt worry about owens can see thats whats wrong with the team. not this so-called owens is a cancer crap.

i say athletic lb'ers who do more then rush. because thats basically all ware does. he can cover, but he's not in the caliber of a harrison, or a woodley.

Yeah right.....

Dumbest thing said on this forum since conception.

TO isn't the problem. Its the playcalling , overrated O-Line, no coverage saftey's and Romo's inability to protect the ball.

But releasing TO is going to solve all of that right?

he didnt say it would solve all problems

cutting TO is a step in the right direction, nothing dumb about it

what? is this a serious comment?

You don't even know what the word "hate" means! It's just some little word to make you feel all high and mighty!

How can someone "hate" someone they don't know? I'm aware of people that use that little word.

Just because people see things different you and others like you resort to "the haters"! Believe me, I know where this comes from.

But this assumes you (or I, for that matter) know more about the inner workings of the Cowboys than, say, Peter King or Troy Aikman or Ed Werder, etcetera... By the way, like King or not, he has an extremely tight, unusual relationship with Jones, or at least did at one point. Recall that King was allowed in the Cowboys war room one year, observed every bit of the thing... that took a remarkable level of trust.

That's a difficult assumption.

Why can't we solve these problems AND rid ourselves of a distraction who erodes our locker attitude and approach to the game? What is mutually exclusive here?
