Yeah, I wonder what kind of season you need to have in order to stay.....

Got rid of 1 producer. TO

Seriously, that's all it took to keep him? Why on earth wouldn't we just offer him that?

Yo bbgun, post that pic of him getting run over by McNabb on the 5yd line...

They obviously have a guy that they love in the draft. Burnett has also hit his ceiling. He's nothing more than a nickel LB and they know that..they want a quality starter for coming years.

Who knows. Maybe he wanted more to stay and play for less thinking it would hurt him the next time he was on the market.

Whatever it was, thats pretty weak. If Dallas didn't offer that to him, thats ridiculous.

I'm sure he was promised a starting spot with the Chargers. He wasn't going to get that with the Cowboys. The money could have been the same.

Because Kevin Burnett sucks. That's why. He's the most universally overrated player on this current Dallas Cowboys squad. Period.

I wonder if they have a good sweeper to pick up his glass parts breaking on the field. This guy is a walking injury.adios.

I'm shocked he signed for that. Since we didn't make a strong play for KB it's obvious we were prepared to go on with out him. I really don't think he will be that hard to replace.

he had no choice IMO he would be too embarrassed to come back after not signing with the 3 or 4 teams he visited.

This is stunning.. AND stupid.

What the hell are they thinking in Valley Ranch ? :banghead:

man i will miss him....he is injury prone tho

who will we have to cover in the Nickle? and Extra Safety? Because we no longer have any cover LB's

Frankly I think he was over paid by what his production has been and his numerous injuries. Glad to see we did not match.

Who overrated him? According to everything I've seen, people think he's in the middle of the pack. At least he was not a 1st round rover LB that can't even bust the starting lineup 4 years later.

cool if brooking was cut and wont count against our compensation picks,

im hoping we can at least get a 3rd compensation pick for canty and maybe a 4th for burnett

No way, Joe... maybe a 4th for Canty, although it may not be any pick, with us signing Olshansky to replace him... but if the dollars I'm hearing for Burnett are right, then the most he could net us would be a 6th rounder, maybe a 7th...

I thought Burnett was a pretty good play-maker in space, and in coverage. Bottom line is, you can't keep everybody.

If by "Pretty good play-maker" you mean average at best, then I agree with you.

He was solid on a good day. At not time during his days in Dallas was he a "Pretty good playmaker".

He was an "Ok" Linebacker and a solid special teamer. That's it.

1. Maybe we did, but he just wanted out?

2. Maybe the cowboys just didn't think he was worth it?

Great, so we remove 1 average player for another one. Excellent work Jerry, you're a fine football genius.
