Buyer Beware: Will Campbell

It's not so much Campbell's arm length that concerns me, or should I say that it's not the only concern. The part that gets less attention is that he's an average mover. He could overcome short arms if he was a Rashawn Slater type athlete, but he's just not there. And the combo of the two becomes a real problem when DEs take him out to "deep water" on the edge, especially when they get him wide and hit him with a bull rush.

Campbell's an excellent guard prospect IMO. He's strong, has great technique, and looks pretty good at climbing up to hit LBs on run plays. I think he's a 10-year starter inside. But the deeper into space he goes, the worse he gets.

I'd happily draft him in the teens as a guard. But if he gets drafted in the 5-10 range and asked to start at LT, some team's not going to end up very happy with their pick.
Even at guard he'd be elite, and worthy of being taken top 15. Not concerned.

Bizarre take: "He scares me to death.....He has really good tape....He's a really good football player.... He has 1st round tape...He scares me"

In between acting afraid like a little girl, he stops every so often to tell us this is a good football player.

He's the first person I've heard say that he will be moved to G, he won't be. And how is being 6'6 a concern for a guard even at that? Half the guards in the league are that size. KC just franchised 6'6 Trey Smith.

This is a guy trying to create drama where none exists.

Half the Gs in the league are not 6'6" and for a reason.

Yeah who wants a guy who helps you win at the line of scrimmage at 12? Save those premium picks for cornerbacks.

Many of the league's top guards are 6'5 or 6'6. Tyler Smith, Landon Dickerson, Trey Smith, Joe Thuney. It's clearly not an issue.
You made the claim that half the league's Gs are 6'6" and then when challenged gave me a list of 4 players and only 1 of them is 6'6".

It is not common for a player that tall to be a quality G. It happens but it's not the norm. Which was his point. 6'6" and struggles to keep his pad level low doesn't scream NFL G to anyone with a clue.

I want someone that's gonna block Jalen Carter.....Not be an appetizer. If we go G....you better get Booker to match up with. @ least he would stand a chance with his size. I seriously doubt Campbell will be able to keep his weight up to 300. And as a guard.....He would just get thrown around.
