Guys, I've seen the idea scattered around different threads here. I figured with a long two weeks til Philly I'd spark it up...

I love what Tank, David Irving, Ryan Davis, and the Crawfords have done (especially vs. Cincy) but the fact of the matter is, with the emergence of this secondary, we might be an elite pass rusher away from having a GREAT defense to match this dangerous offense.

Hypothetically, who would be out there for us to possibly trade for? Who is someone we could afford cap wise, and could legit give this unit a jolt? (Please no Madden-like suggestions)

Or do we just leave it as is?

Play Irving and Lawrence and rotate any and all DTs. No need for a trade. Possible addition of Gregory still too.

I would love to add an edge rusher
But I would also love to win the lottery
The odds of them happening are mighty slim

adding a DE would be nice but harder to do, but finding a MLB is almost as important and alot easier to do

I'd give picks for a DE. Round depends on skill level. Not sure there's going to be many out there.

Mike Lombardi mentioned this morning that Jerry needs to be aggressive and trade for a pass rusher and he mentioned Cameron Wake. He's probably the only guy I would consider and you probably could get him for a late rd pick since he's a free agent next year.

Maybe Robert Mathis if he's available.

Trading for a DE is a no brainier. They are 5-1, have 2 QBs that can win, have a fairly easy schedule, and a overachieving defense that just needs some pass rush to be very strong. Trading a 3rd-5th pick for a DE that will give you 7-8 sacks down the stretch is a complete no brainier at this point. Even if they are a free agent and you can't resign them, you recoup the comp pick. I say go for it and don't think twice if the right player is available.

I'm willing to trade McFadden even if it only lands us a project and or JAG at DE that can be a situational rusher

Its still puzzling we didnt give more thought to Freeney. The Dolphins definitely seem to be the best trade partner with numerous free agent des headed into next season. Heres a list of des and olbs set to be free agents next year. One would think some of these players could be had for a resonable price. If the Cowboys can secure some veteran help for a 4th rounder or later I would do it without question.

Trade Mcfadden. I know theres a team out there that needs a rb
The question is, is there team that's needs a running back, that runs a power run game, that has a 4-3 edge rusher, that either is expendable or playing for a team that is an average at best rb away from being a contender? Or we could just use a conditional draft pick and scrape the top off that headache...and throw McFadden in as a tip...
