Been posting it for days...Cameron Wake...free rental on a sack artist coming off injury...we would need to give up very little for him in my view cuz he's FA after the season...Miami will let him walk and be happy to get something for him...
He's singed through next year. Signed an extension which looks like part of a renegotiation this year before the draft.

Good catch...I guess I had heard wrong on that score...thanks for clarifying...I think the logic for Miami to move him still stands...in my view...I certainly hope we can work a deal...

Right.

This team has done a good job of being patient and building through the draft.

But we need help on the DL.

There are surely decent guys out there in the last year of their contract on teams that are already out of it.

Don't want to mortgage the future, but I don't want to sit around and save for nothing either.

And we can always raid the pantries of the rich for free.

Who do the Vikes, Broncos, Jets, Raiduhs, Bills, Bungles, Cards, Falcs and Pats have on their practice squads?

I'd can Escobar and R Smith and sign the best 2 of these hoping to hit on one.

Wake has a whopping 1.5 sacks this year. If people haven't been paying attention we don't trade for old dudes. Not happening folks. Think deeper and younger.

Younger, good DEs don't get traded.

Guys, I've seen the idea scattered around different threads here. I figured with a long two weeks til Philly I'd spark it up...

I love what Tank, David Irving, Ryan Davis, and the Crawfords have done (especially vs. Cincy) but the fact of the matter is, with the emergence of this secondary, we might be an elite pass rusher away from having a GREAT defense to match this dangerous offense.

Hypothetically, who would be out there for us to possibly trade for? Who is someone we could afford cap wise, and could legit give this unit a jolt? (Please no Madden-like suggestions)

Or do we just leave it as is?

Would never turn down a deal without knowing all details of a deal. I don't think any major deals are about to happen

Because he's an addict in a drug treatment facility, he hasn't competed in any football related activities, weight room, classroom, practice, etc for eight plus month's.

thought I read where he is working out with Charles Haley.

Play Irving and Lawrence and rotate any and all DTs. No need for a trade. Possible addition of Gregory still too.
I would play Irving at DT. That's the position he disrupts the most and has excelled in.

I would definitely give Miami call and see what they are trying to get for Cameron Wake. I believe he's 34 years old and probably has another two good seasons in him under Marinelli so I wouldn't give a whole lot
