Just as an aside, the LBs play looked awful as well, because he ran straight and I mean directly from midfield into the blocker that shifted right to cover Rodger's on the roll out.. he didn't even tail towards the sideline to force Rodgers out if he decided to tuck tail and run..

Bingo. Blitz there, and Rodgers has to settle for a short dump off. More than fine on 3rd and 20 from that spot.

That's what's mind-boggling. The Cowboys relied on the three-man rush, which didn't get any pressure on Rodgers. They then blitz their corners and safeties and for Rodgers to make a quick, off-target throw.

3-20. Which defense should I play?
Hhhmm. I'll rush three.

I noticed that too. It was if Crawford (I think that's who it was) was metal and the Packers' blocker was a magnet.

Combining the best metrics, we were 20th, although that doesn't take schedule into account. (No QB we faced this year ranked higher than 10th in passer rating going into the game, until that last one.)

Interesting. And we were still very close to winning that game. Any little thing could have changed it. PI not being called when Witten was clearly interfered with, crazy random penalty on Butler, Crosby nailing a 56 yarder, Spiking the ball and losing a play when we shouldn't have, and more.

It seemed liked NOTHING went our way in that game.

Just curious.. what were the Giants ranked on defense this year? Because Rodgers shredded them. He did the same with the Seahawks as well.
Vikings, too. But look what their offenses did in those games.

Offensive Drives of 4 plays or less vs. Packers
Seahawks 7
Vikings 7
Giants 8
Cowboys 2

That's why I said that with our offense, even just a "good" defense would be one of the best in the league. The Packers had 2 or 3 extra possessions in each of those games, against very good (but very tired) defenses. Our offense keeps the opponent's number of possessions to a minimum, and does its part to keep our defense rested. So those things do make a difference, but they're still no substitute for a good defense.

Byron Jones is an absolutely God awful safety. Can anyone guess how many touchdowns he allowed this year?

Put him back at corner. If he shows you nothing, AGAIN..then it's time to cut his garbage ***.

Claiborne at his worst, was head and shoulders above this guy.

Jordan Reed lit his tits up. Jared Cook (WHO??) lit his tits up.

Scandrink on 1 foot and stone hands is in a different league than Byron trashman Jones.

Eric Berry and Jones would be a great safety tandem

I'd be looking to replace trashman Jones with Berry.

Relegate Jones to special teams and back-up safety position. I'm not kidding. He gave me flashbacks of Jaques Reeves in that playoff game.

I gotta admit I got a chuckle out of Jones getting lit up on his twitter after the game by Cowboy fans.

"Teflon Byron" - nothing sticks to him. He comes out of each game squeaky clean because he's always learning a new position.

At least he looked good in the underwear Olympics. He hoodwinked Jerry into drafting him early.

He's a freaking loser.

Fed up with Byron at the safety position. The guy has no playmaking skills. We need a ball hawk there. Get him back at corner and get a true FS. Its like ground hog day----asking for a FS who plays like one.

BTW, that excuse he gave is just weak. He was playing zone and did not get far back enough to cover Cook who got behind him. He is supposed to keep his guy in front or at least run with him. Who cares if Rogers runs, he will run out the clock.

I'd go as far as to say he should get some looks at SS, not sure if there is really a difference in Marinelli's ancient scheme but we need to severely limit his coverage responsibilities. He sucks
