This isn’t a knock, but he has turned into Terrance Newman. Shut down his side of the field type of guy but lacking the instincts for INTs. I’ll take it though we had number 1 defenses back in the Newman years

I hope his lack of "ballhawkeyness" keeps his price down when it comes to resigning him.

Anthony Brown was covering him. So you weren't watching cloesly.

And you also dodged my questions. He was never going to be cut, and was never a bust.

"Stop defending him" Stop making **** up and I wont have to
I saw 31 chasing him not 30 go find the cut and you prove it stop acting like his jealous BF , just being real, hes not shut down top CB right now ..he may get there but at this point hes just solid CB and thats nice..he was a bubble guy at S was going to be cut if this move back didnt work..

I've been saying this for four years and I'm not fibbing
I did too. He wasn't as bad as people thought he was playing safety. Woody said as much. He is a great cover safety and corner. He just doesn't have the knack for picks.
But there's a reason why he's at corner and not receiver. ;)

It's crazy you saw 31 chasing him, and not 30. You must be living in an alternative timeline.

I'll ask again when has Byron been burned repeatedly?

I hate the "acting like a jealous BF" ********. I call out when people are making **** up, I hate dishonesty. If they have to resort to stuff such as that, it makes them look even worse.

He's playing great, but damn he cannot catch to save his life.

His screw up against GB in 2016 was almost unforgivable, but he's forgiven if he keeps playing like this and starts getting a few interceptions here and there.

It pulled up an old video?

Here's another at 13 min mark

I stand corrected I can see it now its Brown, I had a lot to drink as the game drove me crazy easy to mix up 30- 31 as it was **** ending.ill remember to watch closer and post every bad play 31 has just for you :) its not that important..i still stand behind my eval, hes good not yet considered a top guy..give it time when he gets aPB bid we can talk..

I’d go Peterson and Ramsey then Jones in the mix behind those guys.

One thing people seem to forget too when it comes to Byron

HE'S BEEN PENALIZED FOR DPI ONE TIME IN HIS ENTIRE NFL CAREER. ONE TIME IN FOUR YEARS!!!!!!!!

Byron pros:

As good in coverage as anyone
Has never missed a game in his career
Has drawn one DPI in his career(Rhodes gets about one a game)
Not a single off field issue
Great tackler

Cons:
Does not create turnovers
Not an aggresive hitter

Is this a contract year? If so we may need to franchise him. We've been so critical of our tight wad front office as of late, but credit to the home grown talent. It makes it worth not spending on someone else's players.

Although Id like to cut out signing a handful of bargains and get a real player or two for the same total cost.
Stephen has to do some magic and they have to open up the wallet with signing bonuses. Jones, DLaw, Collins are just three of them and on the tail of that we have Zeke and Dak and Jaylon I believe. we got to dole out some cash to keep the core together. Plus we already have Smith and Martin who we paid.

He needs to make some plays on the ball but i'll take another Terrence Newman type of guy here.

Newman was always criticized here because he didn't make big plays but the thing was he never gave them up either.

He went several years without allowing a WR to score a TD. I'll never forget the Steve Smith game where he got so frustrated he got himself ejected.
Byron Jones is a pick or 2 away from being right there as a mainstream guy but right now lets just let him be the Dallas Cowboys best kept secret.

All of those guys who are better then him he is the same type of athlete as all of them if not better. Just make some plays on the ball and then he goes bigtime.

^^this ......was thinking the same thing. His game is very similar to TNew who also didn't get a lot of interceptions but like you said, he almost never gave up big plays.

Jesus christ this forum sometimes...look at you guys bickering over whether or not Byron is a "shut down corner" when that's a subjective term. It's ******* never ending on here.

Anyone who say they expected this is obviously fibbing. Jones is scaring QBs into not even trying him. Unbelievable they kept him at s for all those seasons.
All two seasons. Lol but yeah you are right though.
