Physical corner that plays sound technique and smart football. Really knows how to sit in the hip pocket of a receiver. Not to mention he is a bizarre freak of an athlete. Seriously, he's probably the best athlete in the entire NFL today.

We needed help in pass defense and Jerry & Co. went out and just got two players that immediately and significantly improve our pass defense.

I hope you're right. Don't know much about him.

Without making any injury quips here, Byron is the Sean Lee of DB's with his football IQ. You can line him up anywhere, won't have to worry about character issues and will easily be the smartest DB in the backfield.

- great instincts
- great athlete
- can play man or zone
- can play CB/FS

I find it kind of hard to evaluate his instincts and coverage responsibilities when he is playing against future Home Depot workers for most of his career. Is he fully recovered from his injury?

Jerry and Garret both brought up Byron Jones' experience at Safety without being asked. Seems like there's at least an idea that he can be a FS if CB doesn't work.

Sorry but your frontrunning, it only counts if it is against the SEC or your top teams, evaluation posits nothing.

Hope I'm wrong about this pick. Where's the production? He screams workout warrior to me.

I would have preferred Malcolm Brown with the pick.

His technique is terrible in this video. He is getting burned a lot, but the sub par talent his is facing is masking it.

Wilcox can't be happy with all the talk of Byron moving to FS.

Love the pick. Good solid addition to the secondary.

Maybe. I've never seen a UConn game, so all I have to go by are youtube videos with QBs who can't make a 15 yard throw to save their life. Blake Bortels may have been the only NFL QB he saw in his entire career.

Can't imagine he saw much NFL talent in 2013, his last full season:

If Mo steps up (please Mo... step up at least a little bit) would be nice to see Jones be our FS and have Wilcox and Church rotate at SS.

Workout warrior. I'm upset with this pick. He does not look impressive at all on video. He can jump high and far... Wow... Give me a legit CB not a workout warrior. This guy is not going to improve our team. Another wasted CB. At least we didn't trade up for him.
