- great instincts
- great athlete
- can play man or zone
- can play CB/FS

This is addition by subtraction.

To me it's about him replacing Carr whom we now cut..

and saving a windfall on the cap..

so we are now looking for more affordable help with the cuts coming in June.

This is a much more significant pick than some think.

Let's see if Day 2 is as rewarding.

This pick was horrible. Would have rathered Brown or Gregory. This guy isn't even a day one starter.

Stop exaggerating.

Look at his production in college, look at the completion percentage when throwing his way. Anyone bringing up that he gets "burned" has no idea how to analyze game film. Take that and couple it with the fact that he is an athletic freak and you have a great prospect at CB. His criticisms come from being stiff and that he had an injury last year that had him miss 4 games.

I'm skeptical of CBs in the first round, but a HORRIBLE pick? Stop.

People can pan the pick if they like. They did with Hitchens last year and I said it when we drafted him that he is a FOOTBALL PLAYER. Like Hitchens did in college, he just looks the part -- good instincts, good speed, looks like an NFL player playing among boys.

This guys is smart, big, fast as lightning, physical. He is an *ideal* corner candidate.

But, he didn't go to an SEC team so most haven't heard of him -- which apparently makes him a workout warrior. Ware was a workout warrior no one had heard of either.

Love it.

Sounds like we might have gotten a sleeper early...

THEY DIDN'T TAKE MY FAVORITE COLLEGE PLAYER? TERRIBLE DRAFT!

That's pretty much where the disappointment stems from in most cases from fans. Too many people fall in love with their Madden-like mock drafts.

I'm sure a lot of you all knew who Byron Jones was before the combine. The dude shows up big at the combine (workout warrior) and now he is a star since we drafted him. Never mind him not even playing the entire year last year or doing anything special his whole college career. I hate the pick but such is life, I have to hope he can become something now.

If he stays healthy, he'll be a stud. For the record, I hated the MO Claiborne pick. I also hated being right. This one I like a lot.

4.40, he also ran a 4.35 at one point, I believe. He's fast.
Not just fast. He set the world record for broad jump at the NFL combine. Not a combine record -- a world record.

And opposing QBs had a 23.6 passer rating against him in 2014, with 200+ career college tckles. But, you know, he doesn't produce on the field or something like that I'm told.

Yep, if he only had a fast 40, it's nothing to really be excited about. A lot of fast corners end up busts. But when you start to factor in that world record, the fact that he's one of the few 3 sigma players (All of them went on to be great, want to know how great? two of them were Calvin Johnson and J.J. Watt.)

Again, I am skeptical about CBs being taken in the first, but anyone who says this is a "horrible pick" is exaggerating and needs to sleep on this before commenting. It's obviously emotion driving them.

Not emotion -- ignorance.

I'm okay with the pick. Its not great but just okay. I like his athleticism and where we selected him (27th).

He is a better athlete than Mo for sure. We gave up a lot for Mo who was nothing more than second rate talent.

Byron Jones as very good athletic ability and good speed for his position. Give him a good coach and I think he we do well. He is already better than Mo IMO.

Cool stuff, bro.

When opposing QBs still have all day to throw, maybe Jones can say to one of the WR's. "Hey, wanna see my broad jump?"

Hopefully that receiver gives an emphatic "Yes" and stops to watch.
