Reading some of the things about Thornton and his past.

He seems like a salt of the earth, hard working kid. I like that.
I am glad you agree with me on no Bosa. Since you post a lot I don't have to hear you hype him up when we unfortunately draft him.

Well, we on year 12 of "safeties aren't valued" strateeegery

Do you think the Cowboys back tracked on that when drafting Byron Jones or do you think they intended him to be a corner but just showed more at safety after the fact?

What's it going to be then, eh?

I just think they drafted him because he was freakish.

You could tell there was no plan with him. He was a corner one minute, a safety the next.

I think they intended to try him as a safety all along with the fallback being CB if he couldn't handle it.

2015 Stats

Nick Hayden, 48 Tackles, 0 sacks, 2 passes defensed (16 games)
Cedric Thornton, 33 Tackles, 1 sack, 1 pass defensed (13 games)

Not saying these stats mean much, however, I thought it was worth at least posting them.

Real big problem with stats.

They lie.

If you looked at this, you would think Hayden is the superior player.

The latter. If I remember correctly. He spent most of his time at CB in camp and early games. Then Ben Watson made church his pssboy, Wilcox continued taking angles like a whipped orange hot wheels track and "we think his best skill may be at safety. They kept sneaking him over at corner, though

So then what you might be saying is had the Cowboys known then what they know now they might not have taken Jones with that pick.

I hope that isn't true. I'd like to think we selected based on his ability to play both positions.

It depends on what ufda from northwest IT TECH A&I or converted FB to safety was available to give you an informed opinion

Many moving parts, facets, lots of ins, lots of outs.....
