OURLADS' ANALYSIS:

2011 GUIDE: What Ourlads' Scouting Services said about CEDRIC THORNTON: Southern Arkansas, 6035 309 5.26. Started 22 games in his career. A physical player who gives a good effort and pushes the pocket in the passing game. Disruptive in his play. Sudden first step quickness. Needs to improve his pass rushing technique and improve his hand use, but has the strength to knock an offensive lineman off balance. Did not look out of place at the Senior Bowl. Numbers dropped off in 2010 but has been productive for the past two years. Question instincts and recognition at times. Could see the play develop at this level but will need to digest quicker on Sundays. Aggressive in his play with his long arms and big hands. A developmental player who has measurables but will need to elevate his position skill level. 2009 stats: 80 tackles, 23 1/2 TFL, 8 1/2 sacks. 2010 stats: 52 tackles, 13 TFL, 1 1/2 sacks. Edge speed:left 2.04, right 2.13. OSR:22/25. Fifth/sixth round. (A-34 1/2, H- 10, BP-23, 10-1.83).

Watched him play for the eagles quite a bit. From what I saw I would agree that he is disruptive, physical and a good effort, high energy type of player. Really like this signing.

Hayden is like an All Pro compared to Phil Costa. Still, far and away, the worst entrenched starter I've ever seen here.

Costa started a single season after Gurode peed the bed. At least Costa had a couple of good games. Hayden played well 2 years ago against Seattle.

Proctor was worse. Pettite had a similar tenure and was worse. Lynn Scott and Killer were awful starters even if Killer played well on teams.

I think he'll still be on the roster but I can't imagine Thornton not pushing him out of the starting lineup.

And not just because of the contract. He should be able to walk in as an immediate upgrade.

I think he could stumble in and be an immediate upgrade.

I think Devin Street is the worst starter on this team. I am amazed how he still has a job in the NFL

If ive been reading his site correctly, this is a bad pickup because they didnt grossly overpay for the guy.

No one said this was a bad pickup.

The passive aggressiveness on this forum makes me think some posters would be better off posting on a Cosmo message board.

Devin Street isn't a starter. I'm talking about a guy you have penciled in in August as your starter for the season. I've seen nobody worse than Costa. It isn't even close. He had no business cashing a check in the league.
