Cable networks are speeding up TV shows to cram in ads

I DVR a good deal of things and watch them later so I can fast forward through the tv ads.

Sometimes I will pause a show when it comes on and go do some small household task that last 15-30 minutes. When I come back I watch the show and fast forward through the ads.

So it is not just online sites like hulu and netflix that are causing these stations to have less people watching the ads they run during shows...it is DVRs as well.

I do that too. Not sometimes, always. When a commercial comes on, I pause and literally do anything to create a gap. Play fetch with dog. cleanup some messes, anything but sitting through commercials. If I catch up again, I pause again

Superbowl Sunday was hard, as my wife made me not skip commercials.

When I used to smoke I would pause it and go smoke to create a few minutes in that gap.
Even though I going on three years ago...there are occasions when I catch up and I catch myself pausing the DVR and getting up to go smoke only to realize...I don't smoke anymore lol.

Also...I wonder how ratings are adjusted for shows if they are saved on DVRs and not watched while the show is actually on.

TV LAND has so many commercials you could have smoked a pack...

But something tells me you are maybe not the TV LAND kind of guy.

I know that's profiling but I can't see you sitting down watching THE NANNY. :)

Roku........ditched satellite. Like most, paying almost 200.00 for crap? Ain't happening.

I don't think I've ever purchased anything because of a commercial. They're so confusing at getting to the point you don't know what the hell they're selling sometimes. Annoying and a complete waste of time.

Do.we really need to advertise jeans and shampoo? An adult sippy cup with a snack bowl in it?

One channel for commercials and they can run em 24-7 for all I care.
