Caleb Downs

Good job ducking the question.

The point is that positional value matters. Safeties don't have positional value.
Picking him at 12 would be well worth it. Walk in starter. Defensive version of Booker last year but better.

Take it for what it’s worth, but the current Vegas betting line has Downs’ O/U draft slot at 9.5. I think the chances of Downs being available at 12 are higher than people think.
And if he’s there as 11 and Miami is fielding calls I’d happily do something like 12, 112, and 180 for 11 and 130 to move up the 1 spot to get Downs.

I would argue Downs skill set is significantly if higher value than Booker / Guard.

I am still not happy about that pick lol.

Don’t remind me about the Booker pick. Once again the Joneses panicked because the player they wanted didn’t fall to them. I think you could have gotten a Booker in the 20s, so they should have traded back or take guard later in the draft.

Booker played well but he is not a young Martin or Tyler Smith like the Cowboys media wants us to think. He will always be a high floor player.

If. Downs is the guy they really gotta have and he's on board at 9 still why not trade and move up to secure getting him. Losing him at 10 or 11 would hurt to much. And I hate having the thought of us having to use up other picks but I'm sure they get more info on what's needed to be done

He is a great player but I'm afraid he might end up in a bad situation wherever he lands.

Booker was great, dont get me wrong, but the opportunity cost of what we could have had would have been way better in terms of value.

For whatever reason in that thread I thought you were talking about trading up for a David Bailey type move. But yes I would do move up to 9 for 29
I don't think Downs is there for the Cowboys unless they trade up to 6.
