Too much smoke for there not to be fire. 100% chance that Meyer coaches in the NFL next year. However some believe it’s not the Cowboys but the Commanders and Browns that he wants.

Why ??????? I'm not sure about that.....waaay to many layers of management to deal with on BOTH teams.

All I can say is HELL NO! if Garrett frustrates you, Kubiak will double that! He was JG in Houston but with WAY more experience. I lived there. He got his SB on a stacked Broncos D. Please no

I was big on LaFleur 2 yrs back and he’s doing well ow so I’ll take my guessing like someone did above and agree

My want: Rhule or Bieniemmy

Jerry want/what will happen: Urban/Lincoln with the NFL guy being a retread..McCarthy or Rivera(whom I did love years ago)

Not saying he MY choice but I can see him being exactly the kind of hiring Jerry pulls the trigger. As you said, he's JG clone but a ton POSTSEASON experience and success.

Mike Shula. He gets rewarded for coordinating the Giants Offense/QB to a win on sunday.

It’ll be Moore. Jones will cite his #1 ranked offense a half-dozen times in the presser.

Don't be shocked if he's kept around.....you don't throw the baby out w/ the dirty water. My guess is....Ken Norton Jr. (Seattle defensive coordinator) He runs the defense...Kellen runs the offense. :D

Jim Harbaugh is my choice, but believe it's going to be either Urban or Riley.

Kubiak is a very interesting name that Hawkeye brought up. He has been a lot of success on this level, comes from a zone blocking background.

Garrett signs a 20 year guaranteed extension to eclipse Landry's tenure after winning the Super Bowl.

This season has been so bad, Im not sure I wouldn't still hate this staff even if they pulled out a miracle superbowl.

Funny you started this thread........I spent the last couple of days going through various possibilities. One interesting name no one's talking is Gary Kubiak. This guy checks every possible Jerry and Stephen could ask for........real wildcard to keep an eye on. Check this out.........

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gary_Kubiak

Kubiak has participated in seven Super Bowls, losing three as a player with the Broncos, winning three as an assistant coach with the Broncos and the 49ers and winning Super Bowl 50 as the head coach of the Broncos.

In 11 seasons (1995–2005) as the team's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, Kubiak helped lead Denver to two Super Bowl titles (1997, 1998), which were also the final two seasons of John Elway's playing career.[12]

In Kubiak's 11 seasons with the team, the Broncos amassed 66,501 total yards and 465 touchdowns, the most in the NFL during that span. He coached 14 different Pro Bowl Broncos, including running back Terrell Davis, who was named the NFL MVP in 1998.[13]

As the offensive coordinator, Kubiak installed his version of the West Coast offense passing game combined with a zone-blocking scheme that gave way to play-action passes.[40] Under his guidance, the Ravens had their most successful offense in 19 years, with quarterback Joe Flacco and running back Justin Forsett achieving career single-season highs in yards and touchdowns.[41][42] Thanks in part to Kubiak's re-tooling of the offense, the Ravens returned to the playoffs after a one-year absence.[43]

Due to his success in Baltimore, Kubiak became a highly sought-after head coaching candidate, receiving interest from the New York Jets, Chicago Bears, and San Francisco 49ers. The Ravens made a big push to retain Kubiak as the offensive coordinator for the next season, and Kubiak at first seemed committed to staying in Baltimore.[44] It was not until his friend and former teammate John Elway offered him what he called his "dream job" – a chance to coach his former team, the Denver Broncos – that Kubiak expressed interest in a new head coaching position
Coaching tree[edit]
NFL head coaches under whom Kubiak has served:

Assistant coaches under Kubiak who have become college or NFL head coaches:

Private life[edit]
Kubiak and his wife, Rhonda, have three sons: Klint, Klay, and Klein. Klint is the quarterbacks coach for the Minnesota Vikings as of 2019.[68] From 2005–2009, Klay was a quarterback at Colorado State, and is the head coach of the football team at Strake Jesuit College Preparatory in Houston since 2018.[69][70] Klein played wide receiver for Rice University from 2010–2013 and was the Southwest Area Scout for the Denver Broncos from 2017 to 2018;[71][72] he is currently an area scout for the Dallas Cowboys

My guess is since his oldest son is under contract with Vikes, he'd likely consider keeping Moore and Kitna.

BTW .....he still lives in Texas
We could do worse

It has to be someone who isn't wooed and left dizzy from the money.
Someone who doesn't get intimidated by wealth but has a conviction to see things done right.
Ok, ok. I'll take the job.

I think he would be perfect for Dallas. He also has a history with the Cowboys and a good defensive coach.

If it's anyone not named Urban Meyer I'll be disappointed.
And I've got a feeling it won't be Meyer, that's more coach than what Jerry wants. It won't be a retread like McCarthy or Rivera and it won't be one of the candidates seen as a smart choice like McDaniels or Riley, it'll be an off the radar guy that Jerry thinks will be a better Jason Garrett. It will be Jason Garrett II. Jerry will want it to look like he's made some crafty pick that no one else could make because he's so damn smart, a real football genius.

I honestly cant pick who I think will be good for this team based off anything but a guess because I really dont know how their past success transfers over to Dallas and I'm not a GM. What I think will happen? Riley and Meyer seem to bring that big name feeling that Jerry might covet and I would be ok with either one, my only question is, who do they bring with them?

If either of those guys come here and Richard and/or Kellen are here then I think we see minimal change and we wind up still mediocre with a coach who will be labeled a puppet.

What system would they implement on offense and defense and who are the coordinators?

Those are my only concerns/questions for anyone coming in from the college level because its such a different game. Feel free to correct me but dont Urban and Lincoln both run offense based off a spread style attack? We have an o-line and recently signed running back that should be the focal point. Can they make their systems work here?

I am ready for change and I think Jerry and Stephen are as well when this season comes to an end but there are so many names being thrown around I have no clue what to believe.

I will say when Garrett is let go that it will be a relief and I look forward to the changes to come. It doesnt mean a SB right away but I am hopeful and ready get on the right track.

Meyer
Riley
Rhule
Gundy
Roman

My top 5

Do not want:

McDaniels
Richard

Anyone else I can live with as long as it's not Garrett and picks own staff from top to bottom.
