Even the greatest head coaches of all time reach an age when the game has passed them…
Look at the ages of some of the greatest to ever coach and their ages at retirement:
  • Tom Landry - 64
  • Don Shula - 65
  • Bill Parcells - 65
  • Bill Walsh - 57
  • Chuck Noll - 59
Heres a cautionary tale: The great Wash HC Joe Gibbs retired in his 50s after winning 3 SBs, but at 62 he came out of retirement to coach 3 more seasons in Wash from 2004-07 and only had 1 winning season and that was a 9-7 season in 07.

Even the greatest have a shelf life. Bill Belechick is 72. It is very likely the game has passed him by as has happened to many great coaches.

Not likely BB has much if anything great to offer.

I'm working on my resume...Pappy will be my OC, MountaineerCowboy will be my QB coach, Coogi will be in charge of analytics. Big dog and jazz will take the defense and any defense should have a piece of shabAZZ on it....Bobhaze will keep Jerry outta my way.
Go Cowboys
And Rockport can replace Rowdy

Give me your next HC. Jerry has the masses pissed at him so does he go big, or does he go comfortable? This team needs an Alpha not a yes man.

If he gets this wrong it will set this thing back for the next 5 years.

Call your shot.

all roads lead to Bill B. I'm not entirely thrilled, but would be lying if I said I wasn't intrigued. If he were to be the guy, I'd really want Vrabel w/ him as the heir apparent.

I honestly can't think of anyone else available that excites me. I am not a Ben Johnson believer. I do like Flores but think he's a personality disaster here.

MAAAAYBE if Stefanski gets fired I'd be interested. Not a believer in Aaron Glenn. Think Saleh is a good D Coordinator, but doesn't move the needle as an HC.

I honestly don't have any thoughts on Slowik.

One guy that I think I'd actually really like to see, but wouldn't be considered and is under the radar due to his teams ineptitude is Ejiro Evero
I'm not so sure that Vrabel wants or needs to be an understudy with Bill B again, both are seeking HC positions 2025.

If the Cowboys end up picking 1st overall itll be Deion Sanders. If not itll be Bill belichick. If Bill has a better opportunity elsewhere and turns down the Cowboys itll be Kellen Moore.
Zero chance Cowboys pick 1st Overall when teams like the Giants and Raiders are telegraphing that they're intentionally tanking. Dak will be the QB for at least another year, likely longer unfortunately with 4 years still left on his brand new bloated contract.

Belichik is the most obvious option here, but he may be enjoying his newfound adventurous life with his new 24 year-old girlfriend too much to give it up for a broken mess like the Cowboys. Ben Johnson is the other notable candidate that makes sense, but he may be too expensive. Who knows, time will tell. Won't matter anyways though so long as Jerry's running the show. Cowboys are a sinking ship as long as that man and his family are calling the shots.

Deon….or Paxton Jones, his grandson who is a college WR. He is my dark horse candidate, keeps the whole team under the Jones thumb.

Well it’s Jerry and unless Ben has a personality like McVay you can forget it as they would eat him alive here
I don’t know much about his personality but he is a very creative scheme guy which is the opposite of MM. too much of the time lamb is just running up field into a safety over the top. Jerry won’t look at a young guy unless it’s someone he really knows like his wonder boy Moore. That’s why I think bill would be a good short term fit. He would bring discipline and Jerry would respect him more than any young cosch. He could help us in the short term and hopefully Stephen is a bit less involved in every aspect, listens to his staff

After the amount of control he had in NE, control over personnel will likely be a sticking point in negotiations. Bill will likely ask for it in his contract as Jimmy reportedly had.

Belichick is probably going to ask for control of "picking the groceries", control over hiring and firing his staff, control over decisions regarding playing time/snaps, and a hefty salary (probably no more than 3 years). Wouldn't shock me if he asked Jerry to end his weekly 105.3 appearances, post game Q&As outside the locker room, Stephen to cease 105.3 appearances, and any talk related to player injuries or who appears ready to play.

All of this leads me to believe that it won't happen because Jerry and the family aren't serious about winning.

We shall see how it goes.
I don’t think he would. I would give him a seat in the room but Jerry isn’t giving up total control. Bill knows Jerry and he has to know that would never happen. But I bet bill could cut pre snap penalties in half very quickly. And teach guys to play smart ball

Jerry Jones should be the next head coach.

Owner/GM/Head Coach Jerry Jones

Given the offensive/defensive/special teams coordinators will make their own calls, then Jerry just has to manage and oversee everything. It will be the ultimate nepo way to go. All in the family. Stephen can be his assistant.

The Jerry dictatorship of the Dallas Cowboys is complete.

Washington just turned things around on the offensive side and is very productive now...

When Daniels came to Washington, his style seemed to perfectly fit with the triumvirate of offensive coaches he’d now be working with. Kingsbury hails from the Air Raid offense of Mike Leach, while Johnson cut his teeth in the Dan Mullen spread option that’s spawned numerous dual-threat legends; Johnson was also responsible for installing the bulk of the Eagles’ option run game with Jalen Hurts. Meanwhile, Lynn brought an exposure to a wide variety of run schemes in the NFL, including the highly successful one that Shanahan has made so popular in San Francisco.

The idea was to meld the traditional NFL schemes with the college schemes that had made Daniels so successful. And so far, through 11 weeks, it’s been a big success. Daniels is completing 68.7% of his passes and ranks third in the league in EPA/dropback. He has 2,338 passing yards on top of 482 rushing yards and has notched 14 total touchdowns to just three turnovers. He leads the league in scramble yards and ranks eighth in yards per attempt while also having the third-lowest turnover worthy play rate among starting quarterbacks. To put it simply, he’s making big plays with both his arm and legs without putting the ball in jeopardy.

The scheme is partly to thank for that. The Commanders are one of the more run-heavy offenses in the league right now, with only four teams calling a lower rate of pass plays. Two of those teams are Jackson’s Ravens and Hurts’ Eagles, unsurprisingly. The running back duo of Austin Ekeler and Brian Robinson has proven effective, and Daniels’ rushing threat has made it difficult for defenses to key in on one player. As a result, Washington is currently second in the league in EPA/rush, behind only the Eagles.

Rumors are he is interested in Robert Saleh and Kliff Kingsbury.

I would much prefer he go with a younger coach. Belliceck was clearly finished in New England.

When the Commanders do throw the ball, though, they’re getting big plays: Washington is tied for fifth in pass yards per play on the year. Kingsbury has done his best to make things easier on Daniels too, as the Commanders rank third in play-action and second in screen usage. A year ago, Washington’s offensive line gave up the most sacks of any team. The high rate of play-action and screens this year has helped Daniels with pressure, as the rookie is currently in the middle of the pack in sacks.
