I've seen the Cowboys hire seven different head coaches.

At this point I don't think it matters. And for those wanting Belichick, what did he do whenever Tom Brady left? Not much at all.

If you count Jimmy, I've seen him hire 8:

Johnson
Switzer
Gailey
Campo
Parcells
Phillips
Garrett
McCarthy

Only two of them were worth a crap, #1 and #5

Bill B is still the guy I think Jerry will hire.
given the disaster of a season we had, seeing lack of discipline. seeing how the coaches and players have given up. seeing the weekly nightmare at Cowboys stadium. he has to bring in a big name to fill the seats. it comes down to risk and ROI for him. do I pay another 4,5M a year to a coach to make sure I make another 40-50M or do I go with a lesser name and risk losing that money.

Thinking Belichick is only good because of Tom Brady is just low football IQ.
Thanks for saying that Catch. People say that all the time around here. They forget about his game plans that are completely different every week. How they can be a passing team one week, and a running team the next. 34 front, to the 43 the next. All in a weeks time depending on the opponent. Guy is a mad genius.

my candidates for the job in no particular order are
  • Bill Bilicheck - Obvious choice for many because of the name and disaster of the season we have had. Jerry may think bill can extract every bit of play and game from a less talented group and he is a big name that will put buts in seats
  • Deion Sanders - Less of a chance, unless dallas actually draft Shedeur Sanders. father son combination. do you know how many Jerseys he can sell? I think he may even go retro and bring back deion jerseys just for kicks. the publicity and marketing of it is just through the roof. if we don't take Shedeur, then lesser chance, although a big popular name from the past can drive people back in.
  • Mike Vrabel - Just a good solid coach who will not be overly expensive. he did a lot in Tenn with not a lot of talent. then we may draft Jeanty, which will remind everyone of Tenn with Henry.
  • Kliff Klingsbury - I think he has a much lower chance than the above, but his name has been mentioned around the building a bunch of time and within the Cowboys fandom. Jerry is thinking offense and offense selling more jerseys
  • Kellen Moore - I think this pick has lower chance, but its a familiar name. there is the relationship with Dak and Jerry wants credit for having found a genuis coach. this will have more credence if Philly makes a deep playoff run and their offense is top 5 in the league.

I am leaving out Ben Johnson. he is going to be expensive and in demand and jerry won't get into a bidding war. he will go in the first wave of coaching hires and Jerry never does that, much like his FA approach.
there will not be no name coach, as that won't go over well with the fandom and Jerry can't deal with the thought of empty seats again. he has to hit a homerun of sorts.

my honest opinion, is its going to be bilicheck since I don't see us drafting Shedeur thus less chance of deion. if Bill and Jerry can't agree on a salary ( and bill will demand high), then Vrabel is the most probable after that

Do we have the resources to build a team though?
I don't think this FO could do it even with the resources, watch them screw up a top 5 pick next year.

I think a Bellichik tenure will look a lot like Parcells did, a change in culture but short in talent, team will look more disciplined but archaic scheme wise.

Little Bill will get us back to competitivenes but will retire after 4 more years of early playoff exits and frustration.

All that said, I don't think any young gun HC would do better and Jerry will not let his chance at a splash signing pass up.

With some restructuring we can have 65 million at the snap of finger. They just have to have that coach that will in all reality talk Stephen into it. He’s the main culprit to FA. Not Jerry.

Give me your next HC. Jerry has the masses pissed at him so does he go big, or does he go comfortable? This team needs an Alpha not a yes man.

If he gets this wrong it will set this thing back for the next 5 years.

Call your shot.

I think it's Deion....if it's anyone else....I would be surprised.
