my candidates for the job in no particular order are
- Bill Bilicheck - Obvious choice for many because of the name and disaster of the season we have had. Jerry may think bill can extract every bit of play and game from a less talented group and he is a big name that will put buts in seats
- Deion Sanders - Less of a chance, unless dallas actually draft Shedeur Sanders. father son combination. do you know how many Jerseys he can sell? I think he may even go retro and bring back deion jerseys just for kicks. the publicity and marketing of it is just through the roof. if we don't take Shedeur, then lesser chance, although a big popular name from the past can drive people back in.
- Mike Vrabel - Just a good solid coach who will not be overly expensive. he did a lot in Tenn with not a lot of talent. then we may draft Jeanty, which will remind everyone of Tenn with Henry.
- Kliff Klingsbury - I think he has a much lower chance than the above, but his name has been mentioned around the building a bunch of time and within the Cowboys fandom. Jerry is thinking offense and offense selling more jerseys
- Kellen Moore - I think this pick has lower chance, but its a familiar name. there is the relationship with Dak and Jerry wants credit for having found a genuis coach. this will have more credence if Philly makes a deep playoff run and their offense is top 5 in the league.
I am leaving out Ben Johnson. he is going to be expensive and in demand and jerry won't get into a bidding war. he will go in the first wave of coaching hires and Jerry never does that, much like his FA approach.
there will not be no name coach, as that won't go over well with the fandom and Jerry can't deal with the thought of empty seats again. he has to hit a homerun of sorts.
my honest opinion, is its going to be bilicheck since I don't see us drafting Shedeur thus less chance of deion. if Bill and Jerry can't agree on a salary ( and bill will demand high), then Vrabel is the most probable after that
