Bowser, I think Jackson is off the board.

This is my prediction, not my preference.

I think Harris is going much earlier than anticipated. Like in the teens. I think it comes down to Watt or Takk with one of them going before 28. It sounds crazy, but with how Barnett has been steadily moving down mocks the closer we get, he may actually be available at 28 in which case he's my guess.

I really think they want to go DE at 28. Too many CBs have gotten hurt or done something stupid for them to get actual fair value for the pick. There were 6 or 7 that could justify the pick. Not so much now. The DEs have remained relatively unscathed so that's probably where they get fair value from, especially if other teams reach for CBs because the 1st Rd depth is depleted.

I don't see Adoree being the pick at. He's AT BEST the 7th best CB in this group. If the top 6 CB's are all off the board there will a pass rusher available then...

At least I'm hoping.

I think they go pass rusher at 28, so either Watt or Bowser

Thing about Bowser, I just watched some of his highlights against Vanderbilt and I wasn't impressed. He was consistently blocked out of the play. Either that or he was always out of position. He seems to play hard, but seemed to have minimal effect on the game.

I think there ideal situation is:
Watt
Harris
Jordan Willis is my sleeper pick. I think he compares to Dodd/Ogbah from last year and they were going to draft either at 34.

I see it being between Adoree and Watt most likely. I think they have a preference for pass rushers I think they go Watt and draft Tankersley in the 2nd.

I could see Jackson at 28 with McKinley at 60 as well. Takk could be a big faller if he may start on PUP

Exactly how I see it.

Yeah put me in the Jackson or Watt group.

Outside chance at Bowser if he slides or McDowell if they get real comfortable that he can be coached.

I think after Barnett goes, the run on pass rushers will begin. We'll be lucky if Watt is still sitting there at 28. I'd take Willis here in a heart beat but I think Adoree is the pick. DB's are going to fly off the boards on day 2.

I absolutely hate, hate, hate that we can seemingly disqualify good players because they don't "fit" our scheme. It would be one thing if that scheme was tried and true and won a lot of football games. But that is not the case. It just comes across as stubborn and shiftless. It is not the same as taking talent, figuring out what they do best and then capitalizing on it. We look for prototypes and look for the right size peg to fit the hole. Sometimes the problem might be the hole to begin with.
That sounds like Broaddus and crew's opinion more than fact.

If the Cowboys don't think Barnett is a good fit, then they're saying that he's just not that good, because where else would he fit? He's not big enough to play 3-4 DE and he doesn't really project to 3-4 OLB, IMO. If he doesn't project to either RDE or LDE in the Cowboys scheme, then he doesn't really project to other 4-3 defenses like the Giants either.

I feel we are targeting Adoree Jackson. Not because he is my number 1 prospect at 28 but because it seems like a rational idea that the Cowboys are thinking and will do.

Hear me out...

+ We are paper thin at defensive back. All the special defensive ends that can be our "demarcus ware" will be gone and all that will be left are 2nd round tier defensive ends ala Demarcus Lawrence. This is where we stay put and draft best DE in the second.

+ Jackson because he is a triple threat player. Defense and Offense ++Special Teams. He starts day 1. We have 3 Cornerbacks that are worth mentioning. Carroll, Brown, and Scandrick. Even without injury, we need depth at that spot.

+ Dunbar was here and held his spot for only god knows what reason and why so long but I think we are looking at someone dynamic to fill that role (part-time).

+ Just to prove we are looking at a Dunbar type, we brought in Curtis Samuel. However, Samuel would be too rich for our team in the first 3 rounds.

+ Adoree is the lucky we need.

*shrugs*

*swallows*

"Barnett isn't a RDE."

*thumbs geysering blood into his sandwich*

"Trust me. I know what I'm seeing."
